Pasadena joins the Class

I had Pasadena on the student waiting list for Wumpa Academy for months but she's finally here just like Yaya.

She will join your class, and soon Coco and Tawna too, remember that at first not everyone will be so excited about the idea of learning about "the birds and the bees", but over time it will be a subject that everyone will have to take.

Also if you guys are wondering what Pasadena is holding in her hand: it's just my own carbonated version of Wumpa Whip.

AI Insanity?

I know that by now everyone and their mothers know or have heard about AI technology, but I wanted to share my views and my own experience on this.

First Contact

My first experience with this type of technology was when I was trying to scale up some textures that didn't have a lot of resolution. I came to notice that the results generated by the pages or programs that used this type of technology gave better results most of the time.

So I have been using these type of "tools" a couple of times, and since it has proven to be very useful and still has the potential to only improve from now on, I will continue to use it in my workflow.

"AI Art"

As for AI art and all the debate that is still going on to this day, I will be brief, although this technology is capable of creating visually impressive images, I will always prefer human art lol

Creativity and imagination can be imitated, but it will always have a limit: the human art with which it has been trained/programmed.

ChatGPT, Dude.

ChatGPT is another amazing tool that I found out about earlier this year, being self-taught myself, I have been able to find it useful when asking questions regarding Blender and Renpy. It's not perfect, but most of the time it has helped me understand some things that would have taken me longer to figure out on my own.

The fact that it also understands programming languages and is able to explain to you what each code segment does blew me away.

Ultimately, I think the main use of all this should be to help humans (not replace them lol), on the other hand, this is moving very fast, so I understand people who are a little afraid of the future. This might be one of the few times when the phrase "this changes everything" would actually mean something.

Back on track. Just as planned, really!

A somewhat unsuccessful month

I had more plans for this month (October), however a couple of things happened that kept me away from my pc, I think the main one was that I made a necessary change in my lifestyle (in short, I was eating a lot of junk during these last few months and when I went for a medical check-up, let's just say the results weren't very "encouraging").

I am aware that I have been neglecting many things for a long time, and that my own health is supposed to be the most important of all, but... what can I say except I am not the best role model lol

Anyway, of course none of you are to blame for this, so since I'm still owing you requests from last month I paused the billing for November so that none of you are charged for that month, while I catch up on everything pending and try to make up for the lost time.

Among the things I missed were the anniversary of Crash, the news about a new game to be announced (Wumpa League?), Crash 4 on PC, and that's all I think.

In general, I'm glad that our marsupial is still relevant, even a little, I know that the developer's situation is not the most stable yet, but I hope that Microsoft/Xbox knows how to take advantage of the great IP that Crash is and the potential it still has.

Surprisingly I was able to finish your requests on time (kinda), even though I had some performance issues with my pc last week, and although I was able to fix it with a disk cleanup, something tells me I have to change something inside :/

On the other hand, August is here and although doing your requests was fun (regardless of how hard some of them ended up being), we will change things a bit this month, I want to give more space to Wumpa Academy and to create more things related to it.

Also although I have never used Discord before I'm thinking of creating a Discord server, what do you think? I think it could be useful for making quick updates or discussing Crash related stuff.

The last last change (WIP)

Hello again, this past weekend was a bit hectic, at least more than the last three days, while I was applying the latest changes to Megumi's model, MegumiTame's comment reminded me that I actually wanted to improve the feet of the models for a long time, while remembering that I also remembered that in fact I had already modeled something a long time ago (something like feet v2.0).

So I asked myself, why didn't I apply this improvement then? And then I remembered the reason: "I didn't know how" lol, that or maybe I couldn't find the most practical way to do it and I didn't want to mess up the main models at that time.

However things are different now, so without further ado, I present to you the new and improved feet!

As with the new hands, I think it's a general improvement, and it's easy to implement, so in the end something good came out after "remembering" so much, don't you think?

Anyway, Megumi's first render is almost ready, just wait a little longer.

Taking more request for this month!

Ok, since last month's requests were very... "improvised" (I mean they happened in the comments of a post), this made me think that some may not have noticed it :|

Sorry if this was the case for anyone.

But anyway, as the title says, you can leave your render/pin-up requests by choosing a character (it can be anyone), and with a reference image (or without one).

Since the purpose of this is to "show off" the models, all the girls will be naked, maybe I'll make public SFW versions for Twitter since it's a bit abandoned :\

So yeah, hit me with your best shot (one at a time please ^^)!

The last Big change - More nsfw renders (requests)

Hello guys, sorry for taking so long to get the requests, the reason is that I had to work on a part that I had left out in almost all the models, the crotch. Poses like Tawna's squating or Coco presenting her hindquarters showed me that it was time to update that part, so since then I have dedicated myself to studying the female anatomy that I still had to learn, so even if it is not noticeable at first glance, rest assured that this part is now fully modeled, enhanced and ready for action.

I think I can safely say that this has been the most difficult part of modeling so far, even having other 3D models for reference, I had to edit them a bit so that they didn't drastically increase the number of polygons in the entire model, I really hope you liked it the final result.

The good thing is that this is the last big change that all the girls needed, and adapting it for each one is the easiest part of the process, .

Even so, I am aware that this took longer than I had anticipated, so I want to resume everything that I left on pause, so please still have faith in me, Wumpa Academy will be a reality ^^

By the way, I recently found out about Kanga-Soo, I'm still processing it, but I reaffirm the first thing I thought when I did it, we were robbed!

Tawna's tawnas and my "creative process"

First, someone made a small request in the previous post with an image of Tawna for reference, so this is my version of this work done by rods3000.

Now before I tell you what happened in my dream, I'll explain a little about the previous steps that I've been following for a long time to make the renders that I've done, and, right now, to develop the plot and decide what "things" I'm going to include in Wumpa Academy.

The method for choosing the "alternative costumes" was obviously easier, for the existing ones that didn't make it to CTR:NF there wasn't much to think about, if I liked them I'd try to make them, for the "original" ones it was enough to imagine how a character dressed as another one would look like, then I wrote it down in a text file and then put up a poll to deide which one do first.

For Wumpa Academy the process varies a bit, I still write down ideas for scenes for certain characters, but on the other hand the references for the features must come from other games made in Renpy, if I see a game use a menu, a window, a stats bar, or a record, then I know I'll be able to adapt that mechanic to our game as well.

By the way, this basically means that I've spent a lot of time on P0rnhub (more than usual) for almost a year now, I'm not complaining but if I can say something, I don't know why some guys think they should narrate all the dialogues in the game, even those of women during the "action", I mean... that is not ok, right?, and since we are at it, why the hell do some game creators put loud man grunts in the sex scenes of their games? It's really necessary? I can think of other ways to depict a strong 0rgasm if that is what you are looking for.

Does this sound like a rant? Sorry, I guess it is, it's just that I don't understand those kinds of decisions in this type of games.

But going back to Wumpa Academy, it happens that sometimes I wake up with an idea that seems very good to me at the time, but at the end of the day not anymore, and I end up discarding it.

For example, this is one of the things that I would like to implement, a table that tells you the number of times you have performed an action with each character, I will put an example above so you can see what I mean (I think the example is more complex but it's only a reference, it would be more like a "times counter").

Now, I had a dream recently that made me wonder, what was Tawna's purpose? What was she created for, specifically? We know that Crash was going to be the general of the "Cortex Commandos", but what would have happened to Tawna if he had gone through the Cortex Vortex? I remember reading somewhere that she could have become some kind of spy or assassin (perhaps like Ada Wong from Resident Evil).

This kinda makes sense, keep in mind that the function of the Cortex Vortex is to brainwash already intelligent beings, so the Evolvo-Ray is responsible for giving the intelligence and abilities that can remain dormant within the already sapient being.

Now, this also raises the question, how would these evolved female bandicoots would react to a human? Aside from obvious curiosity... it would not make sense, that at first, their own instinct could warned them of a possible danger, not only from an unknown species, but from one full of testosterone that they can perceive much more than an ordinary woman since they still retain some of their young fertile females senses?

I say this because, at the end of my dream, I remember being chased and killed by at least two members of the Nitro Squad, and to be honest, it didn't feel bad at all.

Of hands and dreams

First of all, I was doing some tests to see how the s3men material contrasted on different skin tones (for some reason I thought it wouldn't look good), luckly I was wrong, here are some of the results, so I think there will be no problems in scenes where the girls are covered with this hot stuff in the future.

As a final comment on this, the creation of the material and the positioning of the lights were the most difficult part back then, because if the light is too strong the little details can be lost.

As you know, my most important goal is to make the characters look as good as possible, so when I was putting the Wumpa Academy uniform on Pasadena I noticed that her hands didn't look good, since I never worked on them they were still the same as in the game, and compared to the rest of the body they looked even more off, it was bothering me so I improved them, and this time I was able to take a screenshot to compare how they looked before, the process also requires a modification to the rig of the arms but I already have the method mastered so applying it to the rest of the girls (Tawna and the Nitro Squad) will not be a problem.

Now changing the subject a bit I would like to ask you something, have you ever had a dream with a girl from the Crash series? If so, do you remember it? I ask this because I recently had one that was very strange and I would like to talk about it with you, because this dream gave me some ideas for Wumpa Academy (really).

BakeLab2 Addon - Fixed for the latest version of Blender (3.1.2)

In case you knew this very useful addon, that helps a lot in the creation of all kind of textures in Blender, it is possible that, like me, you had problems trying to use it again after the release of Blender 3.0.

In my case I used this addon a couple of times last year, but when I tried it again a few months ago with my Blender updated, I got an error, at that time I did not pay much attention to it because it wasn't very necessary for what I was doing back then, but after a deeper and more recent search, I discovered that it could be fixed with just a few modifications to the code, so I fixed it and to my surprise it worked again without problems.

I hope it works for you, or in case you know someone who needs it for what they are doing, you can share it with them.

Needless to say that I recommend this addon for any Blender user who wants to bake their own textures, I think it is the best of all the addons I have tried for this purpose.

A little update before the big one

Hi! Anyone surprised that I'm writing something before the end of the month? I know I am ^^

But seriously, I know you're waiting for an update since the last time we read each other, and I'll use these few days left of the month to update you on everything I've been doing lately, so please wait a little longer.

But before that I'd like to post something right after this post that, maybe it's not for you specifically, but that I think might help someone out there. Of course if some of you find it useful it would be perfect, but rest assured that this hasn't distracted me or taken up too much of my time, it's more like a small contribution to the Blender community.

Far From Home

And I'm not talking about the movie.

So in the end I traveled to visit my family last week as I had told you. I was able to breath some clean air, which is a good thing once in a while, but now I'm back home and ready to continue with Wumpa Academy.

I was looking at the results of the "Your First Students" poll and it seems that someone voted for Megumi at some point too, but since Yaya and Pasadena have more votes I'll focus on them first, and then the rest.

As with Yaya, I will reveal their appearances for Wumpa Academy with a render and then I will make some more images of them as "sprites" for the in-game cutscenes/dialogues (as with Uka-Uka and Aku-Aku).

I really want to have more things ready this month so I can show you more of the project, I have some other things in mind that I would like to hear your opinion on as I did recently, also remember that I am open to questions or suggestions at any time, as long as these do not stray too far from what is established regarding the established scenario, or what (little) is known about the plot so far.

Wumpa Academy - List of Traits

Hello again, thanks for your comments in the previous post, this time I would like to talk you about the characters, as I told you I had already thought about the personalities that the girls will have in the game.

But to have it more organized here is a table of traits that I made yesterday, if you have any feedback or if you want to add any other trait or characteristic to any character you can speak now or forever hold your peace ^^

In addition to what I put in the table, and as I told you some time ago, all of them will have the role of students, none of them will have any previous sexual experience (all of them will be virgins) with a minimum contact with the opposite sex, so when they meet you they will have a natural curiosity about you, curiosity that will escalate depending on their specific personalities, even more taking into account that you will be giving them private lessons about sex.

Now, I'm not sure if it's wise to talk about more specific topics regarding the sexual content, mostly because I think it would be a very long discussion lol, but in any case, this will be progressive to keep a natural pace, with touches of domination/coruption (like, them becoming more submissive every time you touch them, or with your mere presence or gaze).

Another way of expression?

Even if they all wear the same uniform, I think we can give each one something that makes them stand out from the rest, this "object" can be related to their personalities (or complement them), here you can see some examples of what I thought:

  • Ami              - no tie, no slipover
  • Coco           - pink phone
  • Isabella       - ???
  • Liz                 - some jewelry?
  • Megumi      - white socks, glasses?
  • Nina             - spats
  • Pasadena  - wumpa whips holster
  • Tawna         - make up powder, ???
  • Yaya            - handcuffs

As you can see, I'm still not sure about some of them and in order not to complicate this too much, I think that two or three of these objects at most per character would be enough.

As I had told you, I would like you to give me your opinion or suggestion about what you would give to any of them, as you can see, it can not only be limited to an object that they use, but also some type of clothing, as long as it does not replace or completely cover part of the uniform.

April Report #1 ...late again

Hey guys, long time no see, how are you?

First of all, in case someone asked you, yes, I beat Elden Ring a long time ago, great game, 10/10 would recommend.

Unlike last month, this month no other game absorbed my time enough to distract me, however I still couldn't dedicate the attention I wanted to the project, especially these last two weeks.

Between visiting my family and helping them move some things, and doing some odd jobs (in order to have something in my pocket), I have to admit that some days I just couldn't focus enough to write, or model in Blender.

It's kind of frustrating because I worked on all nine girls' models (initially by someone's request) just in the first few weeks of the month to get them ready to wear the Wumpa Academy uniform, editing their proportions, textures, and correcting bad topologies that I didn't know they were bad until I saw them again, among the changes the most noticeable and that I can remember at this moment is the rework of Megumi's hair texture as I already did with several of the others.

And since we are talking about the uniform,I came up with a way to complement the girls' looks by giving them "something", you can see an example of this in the render above which is the first look of Yaya Panda in "Wumpa Academy" wearing the full uniform but also wearing something out of place on her right wrist, and I would like your help with ideas for the rest of the characters (since sometimes I can't agree with myself), so please check the next post that will explain this better.

I also have to say that although I already had the uniform ready, because I wanted to have more control in the skirt, this piece of clothing turned out to be the most complex part of the rig, more than anything because of the number of bones it has, however I also learned to combine and separate parts of an Armature in order to not lose the saved poses in the end so I'm not complaining.

Another thing I wanted to talk to you about is that I could be absent next month, not completely but until May 10, but I'm not sure yet (I will know and I will confirm it to you on Sunday), in any case I will pause the monthly payment again for the next month to get ahead of this, as I think I am still indebted to you, and right now the project is the most important thing.

Finally I would like to apologize for being another month "late", before my possible trip I will upload one or more questions/polls about "Wumpa Academy" that I have written down, they will be about the personalities of the characters, in which I would also like you to give your opinion about the kind of traits you would like a specific character to have.

A month in silence

H-Hi guys, is anyone still here?

...

I don't even know how to start... First of all and since I know I can't apologize enough for this big blunder, I want you to know that I paused the billing cycle for April, which means you won't be charged at the beginning of this month.

I hope this can keep you guys around for a while and amend things a bit, despite what it may seem like I've continued to work on Wumpa Academy and learning new things along the way, the good news is that so far I haven't had any problems with this, the bad thing obviously is that I've been quiet about it, this is a "bad habit" that I have from previous jobs.

But even if I've been making progress not sharing it with you is almost as if I hadn't, it doesn't seem fair to me, after all you are not only here as a spectator but as my patrons, and the last thing I should do is leave you aside , especially those who have been with me since the beginning.

My most recent achievement was making a shader that closely resembles a famous White Liquid, it took me a few days but I like the final look and I hope you do too (I tried it on a picture of Tawna as you can see ).

If I had to summarize the rest of the month's progress, it would be, more progress on the Wumpa Academy script, learning how to use some functions in Renpy more efficiently to save a few lines of code, more adjustments to the dimensions of some 3D models, and a few others. imperceptible details.

You may be wondering what do you mean by "imperceptible details"? I am going to use this time to tell you something about myself that perhaps very few have noticed, one of my many defects is that I am a perfectionist in things that perhaps I should not be, for example, remember the Wumpa Academy uniform shoes? well let's just say they have some modeled details that I didn't even show that time, and even a little reference to a well known brand, also remember Pasadena's Wumpa Champagne bottle? Well I also modeled some things that you can't even see yet, with the idea in mind that they would be useful later in the project.

And so I could name other less complex things, but these are the ones that took me the most time then.

The thing is that sometimes I don't give them much importance, or even think that they are not worth mentioning because they are not important yet and some might say: "why are you wasting your time on that when you could be doing something else".

So, now that you know this you may say, but this has always been like this, right? What happened this month that was different from the previous ones, and to be honest there was another reason for all this, and that was: that I got lost .

Yes, I got lost... I got lost in the fascinating world of Elden Ring.

I'm sorry but after a long time without a good game and after many recent disappointments, I couldn't help but give in to FromSoftware's latest opus.

But going back to our own project, I wanted to have the prologue ready this month but every weekend I ended up not being able to put together a weekly report (seems like it wasn't such a good idea after all).

However this does not mean that the project will stop, if you decide to continue here I promise you that this will not happen again, I still have more ideas that I would like to see come true, thanks for reading this to the end, and sorry for being so insecure.

And damn you Hidetaka Miyazaki! Why are you so good at what you do?!

February Last Report - WumpaAcademy Prologue Preview + Uniform "ready"

Ok, what a month.

Even with such a short duration it was too eventful for my taste.

Since I really wanted to show you some more of Wumpa Academy in "action", but it turns out that compiling and releasing a game demo in renpy is a bit more complicated than using Winrar, for the moment please take a look at the (better) recording I made of the first few minutes of Wumpa Academy, sorry if it's too short but it was the most decent section I could get ready.

This doesn't represent the final "product", I know there's room for improvement, I have a lot to learn about renpy, so I hope this first look doesn't scare anyone lol

Also, I was able to get the official Wumpa Academy uniform ready and try it on Yaya Panda, however it's not rigged completely yet, for the next month I will focus on getting more sprites of the characters that topped this month's polls and complete the rest of the prologue.

And that's basically all from me for now, the dream is still alive, this is real, there is still a lot to render, to write, to program, but I think we have the course set, and none of this would be possible without your support, so thank you, you guys rock ^^

On the way to Wumpa Academy - Getting more stuff ready

First of all, happy Valentine's Day, I was waiting in case anyone else voted today but it looks like we already have the results. First here is a very early look at the Wumpa Academy building, you can call it a beta version so sorry if it looks too generic, then we also have the Wumpa Academy uniform, since everyone will be wearing it (most of the time) I will try to give it as much detail as possible so it looks good both from far away and up close shots, and in the second poll we have... a double tie?

Ok, I can work with that for now, besides their almost defined personalities I have some background ready for Yaya, Pasadena, Tawna and Coco. By the way, for plot reasons Crash will not be present in the game, except for Aku AKu and Uka Uka no other character will be aware of his existence in that reality, will this change in the future? We'll have to wait to find out (mostly because it's not like I have the whole story of the game finished at this point, shocking, isn't it?).
I'll be working on the uniform first since it looks like it will be more fun than the rest on the to-do list.
