Throwback Thursday

Shooting in Death Valley has it's own challenges, but something that I didn't expect was an audience. This was on a side road off of a road I thought was remote, but several cars stopped to watch what we were doing. Maybe they thought I was someone famous. Thank goodness for whiskey on this day. You would think that with all the photos I've done, that an audience would be no big deal, but I'm really not used to live audiences and gawkers. I guess it could have been worse and been a mountain lion or coyotes. 🤣💋

Whiskey Wednesday

I had the chance to go to one of our newest venues in Fountainebleau. With all the decorations and the beautiful airy casino, I had a lot of fun. Walked around for a bit soaking everything in and then had cocktails at Bleau Bar waiting for reservations at Mother Wolf. I had a whiskey sour with Knob Creek, lemon and egg whites because it seemed light and refreshing. It most certainly was.

Mother Wolf is an Italian restaurant and they have big shoes to fill in this town, but I have to say that I was simply delighted. The bread is amazing that starts you off and a glass of wine (I recommend getting help with this, as they source their own wines that you won't be aware of unless you ask) Then I had some short rib meatballs for an appetizer. I was very surprised how delicate and delicious they were. Honestly, I could have just had bread and the meatballs the rest of the night.

For the main course, it was a prime rib cap with crispy mash potatoes. In addition, there was a dish of liguine in lemon (just wow) That was some of the best pasta that I've had in this town. Needless to say there wasn't much room for dessert, but you know me. They had the cutest little homemade doughnuts with a white chocolate ice cream and it wasabsolutely delicious! And let me say that they definitely know how to make coffee, which went well with dessert.

Backseat

Let's be a little spontaneous and relive those days of our youth. I have to say that this backseat is a little roomier than the Toyota Celica that I had in high school. That was not happening. And if we need a little more room, I can always put the back down and we could really stretch out.

I would love to hear your car stories. Those middle consoles were also very frustrating. 😉 💋

Weekends

Weekends were made for lounging. Won't you join me? I can't think of a better way to reward ourselves after a long busy week. I love having breakfast and coffee in bed with no TV or phones to distract us. Calm and quiet with only the sounds of birds chirping and your breath on my neck. That gave me goosebumps. 💋

Martini Wednesday

With my schedule this month, I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to see the Bellagio decked out for the holidays, but I did get the opportunity to go and I am so happy. It was unbelievably beautiful and it truly got me in the Christmas mood! The colors, lights and magic of it all was visually stunning and I hope I captured that in the photos.

The stroll through the conservatory was on the way to Harvest, a fine dining, but more casual restaurant that has a constantly evolving menu that features seasonal ingredients and dishes. I have walked by there many times, and was eager to try it out.

I began the meal with a Lychee Martini, a perfect starter paired with some bread and hummus. It was hard to decide on dishes, so I opted for the Autumn tasting menu our server recommended. I had the Sunchoke soup (I had never heard of it before). Another name for it is Jerusalum artichoke. I’m not a fan of artichokes, but this was very good and didn’t taste like artichoke to me at all. Just perfect and light for a cool evening. For the main course, I had the Prime Filet Mignon, with brussels sprouts and eggplant purée. Everything was so flavorful and tasted so fresh. Dessert was the Salted Caramel Apple Cobbler and I will just say “YUM!”

Whiskey Wednesday

Cut is a Wolfgang Puck steakhouse located inside the Venetian Resort in Restaurant row. This was my second time there and it was much better! I’m so glad I tried it again. The first time was during Covid times and it really wasn’t up to par. But this time, it was delicious!

They have a very big drink menu with lots of fun cocktails. Anytime they have RedBreast 12, I opt for that ;-) 

I ordered the American Wagyu Filet and my dinner companion had the Loup de Mer. Both were incredibly tasty! As you can see from the photo, I was so excited to try the dessert that I forgot to take a picture first 😂

The question is "did I have anything on under this raincoat?" 💋

Festivities

In Europe and especially Austria, I've seen that the Krampus parades are about to start. I think I would make a much better partner to St. Nicholas, so instead scaring the living daylights out of people, they could see what is possible if they're really good. I'm sure I would get quite a few female detractors. 😂 Let me know what you think. 💋

Today is for my pantyhose lovers. Now that we're getting into cooler weather, I think a sweater is a perfect match for my hose. Why don't we curl up with a nice fire and some coffee this morning? 💋

Martini Wednesday 🍸

I had the pleasure of going to Julian Serrano Tapas inside the Aria Resort & Casino. What a fun place, with lots of different and interesting Spanish foods! I started with a Lemon Drop martini, Marcona Almonds, Marinated Olives, Pepitos and Seared Scallops. Everything was very flavorful and delicious. It is definitely a good place to go with a group, so you can experience many different tapas. Dessert was picked up at Aria Patisserie and the cheesecake was mouthwatering. How can a girl ever turn down sweets😌

Afterwards, a stroll over to the Bellagio to see the Fall Conservatory & Botanical Gardens. It was so beautiful and always smells amazing. I truly enjoy heading over there each season to see what interesting things they do. A must see, if you make it to Las Vegas.
