Next Update Info (v.0.9.0)

Sorry for the usual delay!
This update has really pushed me to put in three times more effort than before. I’d like to share a bit of progress I've made for Part 2:

Four maps have been redrawn and completed. These maps will be used mainly for fast travel, allowing players to visit four different towns. Besides fast travel, the map will also help you see where you are and which part of the town you're currently in.

A lot of side characters will appear in the game. You might wonder why I’ve created so many character sprite images. I realized that at the beginning of Part 2, the first side quests didn’t feel engaging. So now, I’m making sure that at least one recognizable character from the series appears in each quest. I’ve included an image list of side characters who have already appeared in the game! The silhouettes represent characters who haven't shown up yet, can you guess who they are? Some background characters, like Keith and Taylor, will also appear, but only as pixel sprites instead of full character sprites. Rivals will appear only in pixel form and in animated scenes.

The next update will feature some of Part 2's first bonding quest characters.

The update was originally planned for release about around a week ago, but things were still messy and full of bugs. It will most likely be ready by the end of the month. Worst case, it’ll be out by April 4th.

Personal Update

How was your holiday? It's probably a bit late to say this, but Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Things have been pretty rough for me lately. To be honest, I had planned to take a two week break in mid January since I needed a holiday too. But instead, I got into an accident. After that, I developed an infection, so I had to be hospitalized.

I'm really sorry I couldn't inform you sooner. My family told me to rest and not think about anything until I recovered to avoid stress. Fast forward several weeks, and I’ve already recovered now, I was discharged two days ago.

Every scene has been reworked and animated finally!

This version wraps up everything in Part 1. No more scene reworks and after this, we’ll move forward with working on Part 2. In this update, I also added some of John's dialogue in the mansion (Part 1), including normal dialogue and hints about whether your companion's NTR state has progressed. Additionally, I added some visual CGs for when one of your fallen members is being targeted but cannot be found in the companion search mini game, they will both appear in the mansion lobby.

My target for the next version, 0.9v, is to have a fully working game loop in Part 2. I've already finished the world map, and almost all character sprites have been made. The only things left are completing the bonding system and the gameplay section.

I’m really sorry for being a week late! A recurring bug popped up on the testing day that I thought I had already solved. I reached out to the creator of the plugin for help, but after several attempts, they still haven’t figured out what’s causing it. This issue has been stressing me out, so I tried writing some code to ignore the error as a precaution. So far, no errors have been triggered, but I’m still not completely sure, since this bug is very, very rare to occur and hard to replicate. The specific bug I’m referring to is when the screen displays a notice error about "Naturalwidth" something, something. I’m just hoping that my code actually works.

Almost all the scenes from Part 1 have been reworked. Only a few Aqua scenes and all the threesome scenes remain to be completed. I want to clarify that the reason I’m reworking Part 1’s scenes isn’t to enhance the animations or make them look better, but rather to change the format of the animations (While it's true that I also make them slightly better because I have been improved). The old animations used some kind of sequence image format, which took longer to load, had washed out colors, and bloated the game’s file size (not to mention the random flickering). That’s why, if you’ve noticed, every time a Part 1 scene gets reworked, the game size becomes smaller. That said, I also want most scenes to be fully animated rather than just displaying still images after images.

Next up, Megumin. I forgot that in the light novel, Megumin literally has a barcode! In fact, all Crimson Demons have barcodes. I’ve already added barcodes to all the Crimson Demon character models. However, since only Megumin and Yunyun’s barcodes have canonically known position, I randomized the barcodes position for the other characters XD (Of couse I put them on some hot body parts). Because of this, I added a few lines (for Kazuma and John) to point out Megumin’s barcode in her scene. This rework is my chance to fix Megumin's scenes to make the barcode appear.

As for the progress on Part 2, all the buff and debuff icons are finished. The literal map (a paper map) is still in progress, and the clothing for the side characters is also in progress.

Next Update and Animation Info

Sorry for the lack of info this month. I’ve been really focused on catching up and making progress after falling behind in previous months.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve watched many 3D videos in my free time. As you might know, I always take notes on every game I play to make my own game more interesting. Recently, I became particularly interested in a specific element from one of these 3D videos. It’s some kind of vibration effect? I’m not sure what it’s called, but it’s used by several notable 3D NSFW animators. I took the time to learn and simulate it, and I finally succeeded. Moving forward, I’ll be incorporating this effect into all future scenes I create. Unfortunately, past scenes (except for those scheduled for remakes) won’t include this effect (I am already running out of time).

Additionally, the next update v0.8.8 is scheduled for this weekend (7-8 December). However, it primarily consists of remake scenes and newly added animations along with improvements to sprites and icons. In the meantime, I’m also working on creating and refining clothing for certain characters to make them more accurate, even though side characters will only have few scenes but at least I don't want my work to be half hearted. A specific voiced content is also planned as a replacement for gold tier, so stay tuned for more updates!

I have recovered

I think I just made a very unforgivable mistake. I don’t know what to say, even though I always apologize, this time feels particularly heavy for me. I feel like I've disappointed all of you, and I am truly sorry for this.

The reason for my inactivity these past months is that my parent passed away a month ago. It’s been devastating, and I felt like I didn’t want to do anything. Some of you may have noticed that my progress on the game has slowed more and more, and my reason was my family matter situation. The truth is, at that time, I was accompanying my dad for several months in the hospital as he recovered from a heart attack. That’s why my progress slowed down, I felt pressured. I didn’t want to share this with anyone, as I’m not good at discussing my personal problems on online media.

When my dad began feeling better and was able to return home from the hospital, I thought everything was back to normal. But a week later, he passed away... It has been hard, and I felt lost, like I didn’t want to do anything anymore. The only thing I wanted was to relive the time when he was still alive. It felt empty. My mom eventually took me to a psychiatrist. With time and medication, I started to move on. While I still feel sad about everything that happened, it’s not as intense as those first days.

Also, next time please unsubscribe from my Patreon if somehow I don’t provide any content or update for a month again, as it makes me feel guilty. Thank you for your understanding.

So, what’s next?

I’ll still continue and work on being more open with updates on my Patreon to stay in touch with everyone. I’m also planning to revamp the tier subscriptions. From now on, there won’t be any exclusive sneak peek content in the gold tier, as I’ll provide progress updates publicly every 1–2 weeks. Instead, voting power will be increased as an exchange.

For this update, the combat gameplay in Part 2 has been slightly improved. Buffs, debuffs, and elemental reactions have been added. I haven’t created the icons or fully adjusted animations yet, currently, combat is about 65% complete.

As usual, the story in this update doesn’t progress much. I also realized that the prologue story in the previous version of Part 2, after meeting Chris, felt... lacking, at least to me. So, in this update, I focused on including familiar characters in the story to keep it aligned with the theme. A journal quest system has been added! Now, instead of opening the journal for hints, you can simply press "J" to open quests menu, making it clearer what to do next.

The full map of Part 2 is complete, but I haven’t fully implemented core features for Part 2 yet. Because of this, I can’t include all of the current and previous update’s NTR scenes to the story. For now, you can access them only in the recollection room (6 R18 NTR scenes include Aqua, Megumin, Darkness, Iris's bodyguards, Yunyun and Wiz). The recollection room has also been adjusted and now includes some missing scenes, though it’s still not 100% complete.

Worst delay ever. I am really sorry for the late update release! I planned to finish the combat system completely, but it’s taking too long and ended up realizing I am just stalling the update. Moreover, there are still some system features I need to establish for the 2nd half. To be honest, I admit I am not a very communicative person, which is why I rarely share progress updates unless they are significant, and I am slow to respond. I apologize deeply for this issue.

For this update, I managed to add a small test for the combat system for the 2nd half, but it’s still barebones. It needs adjustments for buffs, debuffs, new skills, UI, etc. It’s also one-hand friendly with WASD controls.

Sadly, the story in this update doesn't progress much, it's still at the beginning of the 2nd half of the game. I need to adjust the map and system, and there’s so much more to deal with. There are five new scenes in this update. You can see two scenes automatically when you progress the story. The other three scenes show what happens to your main party in a scenario where they fall at the start of the 2nd half of the game. For these three scenes, you don’t need to set the girls to fall, I have already opened them for you to see (You can access it by interacting with horse in the bridge). Why? Because they should not have been there, that scene happens after you gain access to that place, which I haven’t finished yet. Please remember that you need to turn off Pov player mode to see the scenes.

I am really, really sorry again for the issue.

I am really, really sorry for the delay! The last two weeks have been a mess, I just don't know what's been happening to me. I got sick, and it took a long time for me to recover. My right side of the head and eye hurt so much for an entire week after the fever. It was really hard for me to concentrate. I was really afraid, thinking I might have a chronic disease because even after taking medicine, the pain wouldn't go away for several days. I am glad it's gone now after one week. However, I would probably seek a doctor if the pain returns.

Now, let's talk about this update. Finally, all of Wiz's scenes have been fully reworked. They now include much more animation, making them livelier. Three more girls to go! The part 2 of the prologue has been released, it's somewhat short unfortunately. I've been thinking which heroine should be continued first. Therefore, I plan to make a poll, and there will also be a costume poll for the heroine.

You can directly access the part 2 of the prologue by talking to the shadowy figure in the mansion. In this version only, before you start the prologue, you can choose whether one of the heroines has fallen or not, this will slightly alter how the story in part 2 unfolds. Please keep in mind that some dialogue may change slightly depending on whether you have already met certain characters. Thus, part 2 will include interactions that depend on what you did in part 1, like bonding or event, which will influence some interactions or behaviors in part 2. My game will always remember what you do... except when I forget.

The prologue in Part 2 will also provide a brief preview of how the skill tree mechanic and gameplay rework function. The skill tree mechanic will play a major role in part 2, and the availability of skills will affect how the story progresses.

Rain, Mitsurugi, and Claire's sprites haven't been finished yet, so they won't have sprite images in this version.

I am really, really sorry for this massive late. I never thought it would take this long. 

Okay, the intimate mode is fully completed for the complicated stuff. Next, it will only be a small adjustment, like maybe a cut-in or some minor graphical effect. Intimate mode in the 1st half of the game is important, but it will be much more important in the 2nd half. In the 2nd half, you can obtain more interaction options and increase the limit of how many interactions you can roll per time. 
There's nothing you can do to interaction options in the 1st half except look at the current available interaction options. You can check it in the player's room, where heroine stats are located.

The next update will be the prologue for the second half of the game. I didn't expect my game to haven't finished when the Konosuba 3rd anime aired because the timeline for the story of my game happened after Kazuma visited Iris, which probably will be adapted on the 3rd season. Now, you can already guess who's the second rival or third silhoutte in the heroine's NTR status.

Really, sorry again for the late update. This update is more focused on scene rework and skill system implementation.

All of the CG still images of the first heroine bonding event have become animated. Not only that, some animation on Darkness's second NTR event has been added and redone. And also redone all peek animations in the heroine's room. When you peek, you can move the circle sight with an arrow key (please remember that this only works in the peek scene in the heroine's room).

2 Short Vanir Event added. The 2nd Vanir event can be found in the 2nd quest area, specifically in the area where you meet Yunyun. The 3rd event, you can find it in the alternate last area of the 3rd quest area without bringing your party. You need to trigger it step by step, like trigger the first event, then the second, then the third, otherwise the event won't show up (the event contains new half characters and an additional main antagonist that will appear on the second half).

The skill system is already finished with this update, but it's just that it will be used only in the second half. Peek mechanics is one example that can be affected by the skills system. The skills system will be the key mechanic in determining the story's progression and ending.

Now, what is left is just battle mechanics. Either this version will be the last first-half update or the next version.

Really, really sorry again for the late update. I have been hitting some development walls lately, mostly on feature stuff.

2 scenes reworked, it's Darkness's 2nd NTR random trigger and NTR random trigger. 1 new Yunyun event, you can trigger it in the 2nd quest area by going to the desert cave area and bringing Megumin with you. Chris and Yunyun sprite reworked, since Chris and Yunyun have the least interaction currently, so I managed to rework them so that they can be applied in the first half.

So what is this Costume Equipment System feature? It's basically a basic equipment system where a character's appearance can be changed via equipment. Expect there will be kinky costumes or their iconic costumes like winter outfit in the second half. This feature will also reflect their appearance at intimate events and scenes (This feature will be the key point in 2nd half). Currently, you can only experience a little demonstration on it in the new Yunyun event in a specific part of the event. This feature will be fully functional in the 2nd half. 

The development's progress is slow currently. Mostly, I am trying to implement features that will be useful and enhance the experience in the second half. I would say it's almost complete with all of them. A new battle system and a new intercourse system will be the only features left that I need to finish. I think it's best to play when the second half drops.

I know it's late to say this, but happy new year! I know some people will probably make something special to celebrate it, but I am just so busy that I didn't realize it's already a new year! It's sad, because when I look back at my first update, it's so bad. The code is messy, and the visual image is all over the place. Well, that's understandable because I was a beginner back then. So yeah, it turned out I got triggered by it and went to overhaul and fix stuff here and there caused by me a year ago. I know this is really a shame for me because I always break my promise. When I always say, "The next update is..." I am really really sorry about it.

Alright, let's get into it. UI Menu Overhaul: This is the second UI Menu Overhaul because the previous one was a buggy mess and unoptimized. Sound Overhaul: I decided to change all default music and some sounds to new non-default music so it wouldn't make you feel like playing another generic game. I will also change more sounds at a later date.

Next is status overhaul, since the 2nd half will affect so many stats and there's also a new rival. So I changed it to a more proper version and included some nice addition stats to look at it. The new status is called Night Record, it records the heroine's previous mate pair and their result. The player can make a move on the heroine in the 2nd half, so this status is important to please your heroine if you decide to open it, but it can also backfire ,you know what I mean. Now the heroine status can only be seen in Kazuma's room (1st Half).

Clear window text and skip text function were added. Is it kinda annoying when you can't see the full image on the screen? Well, now the control is in your hands. Next, I reworked some random trigger scenes to make it animated. It's not wrong when I want my game to be almost fully animated, right......?

Some minor bugs and a random freeze were fixed. I didn't know there's an image blinking issue on v8.0! I am glad I noticed it. And I adjusted all sexual parameters, so it works perfectly now. And I also add some rework so that when you bring out a heroine, let's say Aqua, to a party member, She won't be targeted by John. If you bring out all heroines, John won't target them at night, so you can interact with any one of them, but when the day ends, John's affection will rise for random heroines that you didn't interact with on that day.

I know this update is probably not really significant, so I am really sorry about it.

Oh right.. The lowest tier can have access to v8.0. That's a mistake I actually made. But it's okay, consider it a Christmas or New Year's gift!

New cover and some info for the 2nd Half

Before you read this, spoiler alert.

Hello! You must be wondering how and what will happen in the 2nd half right? Well, here's the plan:

  • The battle system will be changed.
  • Skills and abilities affect your story's progress.
  • A new stat and parameter that can affect your story's progress
  • Heroines will be scattered in different locations that you can visit.
  • Heroine corruption can affect your other heroine, and Heroine's love can also affect your story's progress.
  • Minor quests can also affect your story's progress.
  • And lots of stuffs!

All of the heroines will be scattered in different locations: Arcanletia, Crimson Demon Village, Royal Capital, Axel, and others. The first half of the game acts as your either start boost or start nerf. If you gather many story keys, you can speed up your progress on the heroine's story, but if there's one heroine who's fallen, that one heroine will hinder you at the start of the second half.

The 2nd half will have two rivals, Barnes and John. Unfortunately, they can't act together! Again, everything will be affected by your action if it's Barnes or John who will be your rivals until the end. Their corruption systems will be different from each other, it will be boring if their corruption systems are the same.

The characters that appear on the cover are not all. There will be more. And even though only seven heroines will be the main highlight of the scenes, side characters will occasionally appear to join in the fun with the main heroines in some cases.

There's still a lot of stuff, but I will save it for another day!

I AM REALLY SORRY I LATE AGAIN, BUT THIS IS PROBABLY THE WORSE ONE! 1 week late, holy... I really got trouble, irl, some family matters and all, but it's already fine now, kinda..

Alright, about this update. This update is really short, I didn't manage to finish all the features and some stuff. The Sylvia route finally finished in this update, and there's two endings (I feel like I could extend it more, but it ended up really, really short, so I think I will just create another ending). It's straightforward, you can choose the ending before the end of the route (I also put a warning tag when you choose the one specific Sylvia ending, just in case you can't handle some specific kinks).

Next, POV mode is added. This feature really took me a lot of time. Now that this game has two perspectives, you can change them freely in the item menu. If you choose everyone's perspective, the game will play like usual. If you choose Kazuma's perspective, there's a lot of change that will happen:

  • You can't see inside all girls rooms or some private rooms unless you peek or go inside the room.
  • You can only see silhouette sprite on the open field if there's one of the girls doing something.
  • You can only hear voices and shaking onomatopeia text if there's a girl being harassed in battle.
  • You can't see everyone's inner monologue.
  • You can't see events that focus on other character's perspectives.

There's some stuff that I will consider, like how you can't see the girl's stats clearly from Kazuma's perspective... I don't know. If you have any suggestions or anything for the POV feature, please let me know! There's probably some text that I haven't adjusted for the player's perspective, please report it if you see any of it.  And now, you can set status condition on recollection room. (Please know that the recollection room is still an unfinished mess and will be updated periodically.)

For the next version, I think I will focus on the feature that I have to finish first and the prologue of Part 2. The girl status UI needs to be revamped too, some stuff needs to be revamped.

It's a little late. This update is pretty straightforward.

Two new NTR scenes have been added to the Sylvia route. Aqua and Megumin finally get a turn on the route. I am also trying to establish a new method of story telling. For example, from now on, the next event will have an animated cutscene to make it interesting to see and easy to understand the context of the scene and story. Please give me your thoughts on it. (You will quickly understand when you access the continuation of the Sylvia route on this version.). Next are three NTR scenes remastered, the old ones. I really want to change all of the format of the existing animation to increase the quality and reduce the size. At the same time, when I look at the v.0.1.0 animation, it's kind of weird, at least in my eyes, so I quickly manage to remaster three scenes on Aqua's NTR scenes (You can check it faster on the recollection room). I also added four different Megumin and Yunyun animated events to be used in the next version. If you are curious, you can check it out in the recollection room (it will contain no context spoilers).

The next version will be the final version for the Sylvia route. I really can't wait to work on the second half of the game. I didn't realize it's been a year since I developed the game, it took a longer time than I expected and it's still far from perfect. Everything in the first half will be wrapped up and finished in the next version, like the new bonding system for the rest of the character, player-only perspective mode in the first half, status selection in the recollection room, aura detector not working properly and others.
