Fall of the House of X #5 cover process

Hi everyone,

Here is the process to make this homage cover.

Colors by my favorite colorist: Jesus Aburtov (who is doing the Fantastic Four colors, hell yeah!).

I sketched digitally using Clip Studio with a Wacom 22 HD ( I know, I know, I have to upgrade)

The final lineart was done on paper using traditional old-fashioned 0.5 mech pencil with 2H leads.

I added some shadows on Clip Studio after scanning the final lineart.

I wish I could just have drawn Venom xD

Fantastic Four for a bit

Hi everyone,

When I started the Fantastic Four we only scheduled 4 issues to see if I was a good fit for the series, apparently I am and they want mee to do more.
No end date for now as far as I know, although we haven't scheduled for the next issues. But we're so far ahead that's not a problem at the moment.

I'm finishing issue 20 tomorrow and jumping to 23 next Monday. Ivan Fiorelli is drawing FF Blood hunt 21-22.

So yeah, just a quick update on that!

Little Update + Kate (finally!)

Hi everybody!

Quick update on the Fantastic Four:

Fantastic Four #17 releases on February 17th! Looking forward to it. 

It was the first issue and I wasn't very comfortable with the characters but I think it came out pretty solid, you'll let me know!

I'm currently working on issue 20 which is very funny, I'm drawing a lot of day-to-day life situations, which is good, because I always have a hard time with those.

I love to draw action scenes but it's always good to improve and challenge yourself with scenes that are hard to draw.

With all that said, Kate officially (shadows and all) made it into the topless season! Which ended a few months back but for some reason, it's still kicking!

I'm crunching hard on Fantastic Four 19 since I didn't have any spare days on the holidays and family reunions definitely put me behind on schedule.

Still catching up, this is the last week before this issue's deadline.

This one is for a commission (NOT DOING COMMISSIONS AT THE MOMENT) long story short, I ended up having to do a commission.

At some point, when my exclusivity with Marvel ends in two years (if I'm not renewing it) I might have some time for commissions. And you guys will be the first to know.

Anyway, my question is:

Do you think this is quality enough for a commission? ( Keep in mind, this is just the sketch, I'll ink and color it if we approve it).

Guiding the reader's eye...

Hi everyone,

Just a quick thought on Kentamaru's question on the last post:

Tips on creating the flow of the page?

I'd say, try to draw a line (in your head) from the start of the page to the end going through all the panels and all the actions as if you're reading it.

Making sure it makes sense and the reader isn't lost at any moment.

Making character poking out of the panel into the previous panel is a good strategy to guide the reader ( Emma's head poking into panel 1 to bring your attention).

The basic and most important idea is making the page simple to read.

I know it's always cool to innovate and make dynamic panel compositions, but always keep in mind it must be easy to read, SUPER easy to read.

You never want the reader wondering if he's reading the panels in the correct order.

Hi everyone!

Just a quick update, I'm currently working on Fantastic Four #19 which is a fun one.

I wish i could show something, we'll need to wait until February.

On top of that I'm working on a few covers too, so my Christmas season is going to be basically work. I don't have an extra week or days off this year.

So things are going to be tight. I'll try to squeeze in some Patreon content 😅
