Pausing my Patreon billing for July 1st

Hey there! I hope you have all been well :)

Writing this to say that I'll be pausing the billing for my patrons this month of July. I actually meant to do it for this last month, but forgot then it was too late :| I didn't post anything last couple months, so I should have paused it... I apologize for that. I'm trying to think of a way to make it up to everyone who supported the last few months... Thinking about doing some small portrait sketches or something when I have a bit less on my art plate, I'll let you all know what I come up with later ^^

But thank you all so much for the continued support regardless :) I'm very grateful for you all!
I'll be posting a new drawing here tomorrow, one I'm very happy with! Also I have started commission work back up so that stuff will get posted soon too ^^

Honest

This was a very complex drawing to make, and took me quite some time to plan and work on XD Sooo much detailing haha. I’m so happy with how it turned out :D Both the background and the characters, I’m quite proud of the results! (Big scenes like this certainly test my patience in many ways though haha)
I really love the warmth of it all, the sunset in the background and the more subtle lighting ^^ And of course the cuddly cats!

Honest - High Resolution + WIPs!

Full illustration commissioned by AmurUssuri of their tiger sona along with their mate LaiLai’s lion sona ^^ Thank you again for everything! (especially the patience!)

Here they set up camp for the evening after a rainstorm! Letting all of their clothing and armor dry off as they enjoy the warmth of the fire (and having the chance to spend some time close ^^)

This was a very complex drawing to make, and took me quite some time to plan and work on XD Sooo much detailing haha. I’m so happy with how it turned out :D Both the background and the characters, I’m quite proud of the results! (Big scenes like this certainly test my patience in many ways though haha)
I really love the warmth of it all, the sunset in the background and the more subtle lighting ^^ And of course the cuddly cats!

(03) We've Got Nowhere to Be - High Resolution + WIP!

Another finished sketch :D My characters Alpha Nika’maar and Alpha Ra’maar ^^ (The parents of my twin characters Ti’maar and Lue’maar) I don’t think I have actually drawn them together before, but I think this is an adorable first drawing of them :P Shows their dynamic well I think haha. Nika’maar is quite aggressive, almost too aggressive for the more reserved Ra’maar! But he isn’t too upset about it either :P
Here, after they finished training/fighting for the day, Nika’maar drags Ra’maar away into their tent (despite his excuses and poor attempts to go somewhere else :P )

This is the second drawing I have done in this style, and I am continuing to enjoy working with it :D I really love how it turns out in the end too! I can’t wait to draw more of these XD

Commissions are OPEN!

Hello all!

I've opened commissions back up! But things are going to be a bit different this time! ^^

Here’s how it’s going to work! I’m no longer going to do "open and close" commission groups! Commissions are now always open for new requests! New commission slot requests are placed into a pool that I will choose from at my own pace. (kind of a pool, kind of a waiting list) I will still try to choose from my oldest requests first, but they will likely be selected out of order. When requesting a commission slot, please keep in mind that there is likely many people already waiting for me to work on their commission request!

Here is a quick summary of how to request a commission slot and how it works:

Read my commission Terms of Service here: https://titusweiss.com/commissions-tos
Scroll to the bottom of the ToS page and fill out the Commission Slot Request Form, providing me with all the information I need to know what you want drawn. (If you have multiple different commissions you want done, which is totally fine, please fill out one form per commission!) You can also send me your request via email, as long as it contains all of the same information the form is requesting! My email is listed on my website: titusweiss.com
Once I receive your request(s) with all of your information, I will send you an email confirming that I received your commission slot request. (It may take from a couple of days to weeks for me to respond to it)
I then put your commission slot request into a “pool” waiting list with everyone else who has already requested commission slots. Here your commission request waits until I am ready to work on it and I select it. Please keep in mind there will likely be many other people before you, and the wait may or may not be quite long (possibly a few months) depending on how busy I am.
When I am finally ready to work on your requested commission, I will email you. If you changed your mind during the wait, that is alright! We can either change what you want drawn, cancel the commission request, or postpone it!
We will then finalize the details of your commission over email. Once we are decided on what will be drawn, I’ll invoice you to have you pay for it. Once it’s paid for, I will add you to the Active Commission Slots list here: https://trello.com/b/mt7zKugE
And finally, I start on your drawing! The rest all continues as a normal commission would! ^^

(02) Book Trade - SFW

New personal art, a sketch with my characters Khay and Hharka! (Left to right) Khay you are probably familiar with, but Hharka is a new name! He is the same coyote character that appeared alongside the Wolf Areco in my comic page here https://www.patreon.com/posts/taria-prologue-1-28728119 :)

Both Khay and Hharka’s masters are good friends, so these two happen to see each other occasionally when they visit. They also happened to become good friends as well, since they have a lot in common with each other ^^ Here they are sharing their love of reading, by trading some books with each other and chatting :)

This sketch is the begging of something new. I’ve wanted to make sketches like this for a very long time, but have always been discouraged by feeling like they are “not good enough” or “not popular enough.” But at the end of last year I had a bit of a breakdown, and since then stuff like popularity hasn’t had the same pull to me. When it comes to personal art, I now want to make what I want, not what I think people want to see. And I want to draw sketches because it’s fun, so that’s what I’m going to do :P So expect tons more sketches from me over this year haha (and I actually mean that this time)

Now since I do like coloring stuff occasionally (not counting art that is meant from the beginning to be colored), I’m going to start another new thing where, once I have a few of these things done, I will poll my supporters on Patreon and then color/paint the sketch that they voted on ^^ This way I can have a bit more interaction with the people on my Patreon (and get some colored drawings posted) :)

About the sketches themselves, one thing that was important to me, if I was going to do this, was having a sketch style I loved! And so I have thought about this a while, all the different techniques I could use, and this is the look I settled on :) I will still try to develop it, and I’m sure it will evolve over time, but this style I’m super happy with ^^ I have so many idea for future sketches, and I’m really excited to have the confidence to work on them! :D

(side note, I will be numbering the titles of these sketches to make them easier to keep track of! This one will be (02) and the number will go up from there! That’s how you will know each one is part of the sketch series)

Minor adjustments to tiers (and some other stuff)

Hello! ^^

I'll start by saying thank you all once again for your support here on Patreon! I currently have 7 patrons, and I greatly appreciate every single one of you ^^

I'm making some minor changes to my tiers here. Mainly that with my $10 tier I will be posting PSD/CLIP files for both commissions and personal work from now on, instead of just for personal work. With my main focus for the first part of this year being getting commissions done (I have 4 right now all in progress, for example), I wanted to make sure that the best part of the $10 Tier was continuing to get content added ^^

Second, I adjusted the tier discount rates for my print store (on my website here https://titusweiss.com/store )
I increased the discount rate in case anyone wants prints XD The only thing on there currently is a custom print, but with that one you can just let me know what piece of mine you want printed and I will do it :) I'll also have to remember to post the discount codes here more often. The old ones are super buried in my post timeline right now lol

Lastly, something new I want to start doing this year is making a lot more black and white sketches of my original characters and world, mainly for practice and fun. Because I have a LOT of things I want to draw as finished color art for both fun and practice, I know I don't have the time or energy for it all. So what I plan on doing is occasionally, once I have drawn and posted 3-4 of them or so, having patron-exclusive polls to decide one of them from each group to ink and color! I know a few other artists that do similar things on here, and I always thought it was a fun idea ^^ I've already got a few of these sketches started, so you can expect to see some of them posted in the coming weeks!
(Later down the line I'll be thinking about other things in this area, such as Patron requests to see things drawn in my personal art. But for now I'll stick to this XD )

Happy Thanksgiving all! ^^

On that note, I know that I just said this last week, but thanks again for all of your support over this past year :D Things haven’t at all gone how I planned... but you all made it a lot better. Reading all the nice comments on my artwork, and the numerous messages I get, really gets me back to work times I don’t feel like it at all ^^ Thank you so much! <3

This is my new profile pic/avatar for all my sites! ^^ The old one was looking quite outdated to me, and I wanted an updated one for 2020 that was lighter and more readable… so here it is! XD

I guess this is my fursona :P And this makes it only the 2nd time I have drawn him before, counting the previous profile pic haha. As you can, I’m for more invested in drawing my OCs than my fursona haha. Things have changed with him a bit… Now he’s officially based in my comic’s world, where he seems to work as an artist :P I also changed some features like eye color to match irl me more. I’m honestly quite happy with him now ^^

I started drawing this many weeks ago, but as you know I haven’t been around much lately… Hopefully getting this done and posted will give me the kick I need! Next few drawings that I’ll post will be commissions, I’m currently working on 2! Stupid me is just taking ages with them -__-

By the way, I should be streaming again here within the next few days. Messed up my PC a few weeks ago (and a bunch of other stuff) and had to rebuild all my OBS presets this week XD But I’m good to go now!

Small Patreon Update

I'm making this post to apologize for the lack of new art here the last few weeks... I took a bit of a break from streaming and I've been an unfocused mess since then. I plan on streaming again this week to get back into a rhythm like I had this summer. I quite enjoyed drawing Nilun here ^^ I love the tribal “shaman” look of their character and the outfit! Don’t think I have ever drawn anything snake related, or scales at all really, but I’m super happy with how the scaled parts turned out! I anticipated it being tedious, but it wasn’t really that bad haha. I just came up with a method for quickly abstracting the lighting effects of scales; after that it wasn’t a problem!

I quite enjoyed drawing Nilun here ^^ I love the tribal “shaman” look of their character and the outfit! Don’t think I have ever drawn anything snake related, or scales at all really, but I’m super happy with how the scaled parts turned out! I anticipated it being tedious, but it wasn’t really that bad haha. I just came up with a method for quickly abstracting the lighting effects of scales; after that it wasn’t a problem!

I need some help choosing something about my comic page! :)

I added some blur effects to the finished page, like in the backgrounds and a tiny bit on the characters. I'm wondering if you all like it with the blur? I like it more with the blur personally because it gives the scene more depth :) I'd really love to hear what you think about it! Thank you :D

With this page I will be posting both versions here for you all, but will make up my decision this week on which to post publicly :)

End of the fighting… for now! :P
Something adorable about angry cats to me haha, especially cheets!

Finally a new page :P Took many weeks before getting around to drawing it :| Oh well… I still learned a lot making this page!

First off, I started a new technique for drawing figures! (It was one I re-learned from a book) It worked out amazingly! XD Normal a fight scene like this would be torture for me to draw haha, but it was quick and enjoyable :D The figures don’t look super amazing or anything, but they are as good as usual and I will get better with practice!

You may have also noticed the colors changed a bit compared to the last page! I decided I really hated how my comic colors were looking, and also how long they were taking, so I tried something new! A simple hybrid technique very similar to what I use in my paintings! Mainly what I learned making the drawing Chee Hugs. I like the look of this so much more, so I will continue to use and develop this style in the future pages :) This “short prologue comic” is supposed to be a learning experience before my longer story, and it sure has been! XD

Also I tried a new blur effect on the backgrounds… I like how it looks but I feel like some might not like it. I just like the added feeling of depth it gives :)

Dai

Toned paper character art for AvatarDragonTrainer of his character Dai! Thank you again! ^^

Had a great time drawing Dai here :D He’s a tough warrior and leader that’s I certainly wouldn’t want to challenge! XD I’ve done a couple of other commissions in the past for AvatarDragon, of his characters Kiera and Kya ^^ (If I remember correctly they are both Dai’s daughters too.) His characters are always fun to have the chance to draw!

Put a bit of extra time into this one, so it’s a bit more detailed than most of my character drawings are! It was well worth it though, really I love how it looks! It’s actually one of my favorite drawings I’ve done ^^ I also used a slightly different technique for drawing the figure! I started with a “skeleton” of sorts for the pose and proportions, and it made drawing the figure and anatomy so much easier and fun! I will continue that with my drawings in the future :D

Toned paper character art for AvatarDragonTrainer of his character Dai! Thank you again! ^^

Had a great time drawing Dai here :D He’s a tough warrior and leader that’s I certainly wouldn’t want to challenge! Summon

Illustration commissioned by Xilimyth of their fursona Xilimyth (right) and Giza’s fursona (left)! Thank you again, Xilimyth! ^^ (Theme based on the Fate series, with Xilimyth in a “cosplay” of sorts of the character Saber and Giza’s based on White Mage from Final Fantasy :) )

Never really have put this sort of thing in a description... but here was some dialogue, that was mentioned in our discussion, that explains what’s going on in the scene XD

Giza: "I Giza, by the power of my first command seal order you Saber, clear this area of all evil."
Xilimyth: "By your command Master!" *Summons Excalibur*

This painting was quite a challenge! XD I was rather intimidated by it to be honest, so it was a slow process to get things done… but here it is all completed, and I’m super happy with it :D Enjoyed painting it too, even with my struggles ^^ The clouds and smoke were particularly fun! The characters and what they were wearing were fun as well :) I actually have done a painting of Xilimyth before, which can be found HERE. Was great to have a chance to draw the big, winged chee again! :D

Kobayashi Maru

Illustration commissioned by Raptorzs of his characters Yuri’Tab (left) and TerrKar (right). Thank you very much! :D

This wasn’t the first Star Trek themed work I’ve been commissioned to make, but it is certainly the largest! The scene here is Raptorzs’s characters taking part in a simulated test called the Kobayashi Maru. Both of them are responding quite differently to the results of their progress in the test XD

I’ve always been a huge fan of the Star Trek franchise, so making something like this was a really cool experience! All the effects such as the smoke, sparks, and damage were probably my favorite part to paint; along with the characters and their uniforms as well ^^
