Going to be playing some LC tonight with a few friends, stream will be hosted by my friend Sameethan1 and the link to watch will be available on both my Twitter & YouTube channels community posts shortly!
Took some time to shade and fix parts of the droideka I didn't like. Looks better now in my opinion though I may do a few touch ups later down thee road. Dodge and burn tools are amazing in photoshop!
Shading and coloring are complete! The rig is fairly simple, and I can give it the illusion of "talking" by simply changing the opacity up and down, as you can see on the left side of the screen. Pretty fun stuff!
Just rotating the nest image on a loop here. I'm pretty happy with this character drawing, completely animated in Premiere Pro and drawn in Animate. Looking at it now I think I should go the extra mile and add some more detail and shading in Photoshop to give it the best appearance possible since some of the color seems a bit flat to me. I'll post the new shaded model here on Patreon once it's complete.
The same key frames were used in the Ep. 5 preview for this gif. All I did for this one was nest the body and leg layers together and rotate the PNG on an anchor point, giving it the illusion of rolling. When the leg kicked out, I reduced the rotation speed slightly and added a slight blur which I removed for this gif.
This is the droideka that first originally appeared in my Droids Play VRChat Ep. 3 and now in the new Ep. 5 Preview. It's so nice to be able to go back and reuse old assets and then add to them. Originally, it was a single-layer PNG, but when I revisited it, I added a new layer so the middle leg could be moved off of an anchor point to give it the appearance of "kicking" off the floor to jump.
I've removed the early video access from the 10$ tier and brought it down to the 5$ tier instead, now more people will be access early content now! That being said I have finished rendering a preview for EP.5 which will be going live on Patreon today. I will be focusing on pushing out the full episode along with a few other projects next.
Going to be joining other friends/creators more often down the road like I did last Tuesday on streams to play various games such as Power Wash Simulator, Lethal Company, VRChat, etc. Still unsure about streaming myself but I'll be putting out notifications on Twitter & YouTube whenever I'm going to be joining anyone for a play session on their stream so feel free to drop by and say hi!
There's a good chance I'll be recording these sessions too for potential videos. Been thinking of branching out from VR and exploring new territory for different kinds of videos to change things up.
I will be releasing a VRC preview likely this month. Preview will likely be around 3 minutes long and and the full video is coming along nicely, the thumbnail is already complete too! Super excited to see what people think of the preview and naturally the clip will go live here first for members before anywhere else.
Building a new droid from scratch so that I can use it for future content and possibly the next VRC video. Since I plan on also animating it, the whole thing is about 5 separate layers. I'm honestly just winging it at this point so I'm curious myself on how it'll look once it's shaded and rigged up.
Last part of the process, adds simple rotation keyframes to the bottom of the character head to give it more personality. Pretty simple and straightforward. The entire character was built and colored in Adobe Animate, then exported to Adobe Photoshop for texturing and slight layer tweaking then finally put together into an animation rig layer and animated in Adobe Premiere Pro.
These are pretty fun to do, might do more of these in the future.
This part got a little bit more tricky, in order to make the animation look more natural and fluid I added additional keyframe layers to the jaw so it didn't look like it was moving off a hinge anymore. Little bit more work but overall makes the animation look waaaay better in my opinion. Hard part was really just adjusting the jaw x and y coordinates to line up with the speech of the character, often going back to redo the frames from scratch until it looked right to me.
This is a follow up of my recent post showing off this new character. In this clip all I did was add keyframes to the eyes. I'll be posting a few more of these showing each layer of animation leading up to the final product.
Early Patreon Access to my next YouTube Short! This one was... frustrating to revisit. Still, we had fun though! As usual I linked the people in the description of the Short if you want to check out their content!
Past few months I've been working on moving. Going back and forth from state to state and town to town. Been a pretty rough ride but I'm almost ready to get back in the game. Almost done setting up my room. Previously used 2 monitors now I'm going to try 3. Will be posting update soon.
This one is really funny! Somehow got my friend to cry from laughter using this random Avatar. Feel like my understanding and editing skill of shorts is gradually increasing, these are fun to make!
1 week early access to my second short. I'm still learning how to do these properly but I think one is a step in the right direction from the first one. Yes it's an older clip but I'm going to gradually start releasing brand new content both as shorts and full videos as time goes on.
Side note: it's kinda fun going back and re-editing older stuff, I can add extra animations and edits to it!
Early access to my very first short on YouTube. It's from my very first VRChat episode but was definitely one of the highlights from it. I'm going to be revisiting and collecting a few more clips to turn into shorts and edit them with subtitles (if possible) and maybe a bit of animation.
I put a poll out on my channel to see what platform I should try expanding into in the near future and about 80% of people voted for a Discord server. I've starting to build one from the ground up but I probably won't release it until the Summer season as I am still in the middle of moving homes.
Naturally, I'll be extending an exclusive invitation to our Patreon members and my trusted friends before releasing it to the masses. Plus, I'll need to scout for dependable individuals who are keen on moderating and/or hosting events - I'm hoping to organize some epic meet-ups with our Discord members and forge some meaningful friendships along the way.
Every Patron will now be eligible to have their name featured in my upcoming videos or edits, when appropriate. Of course, Patrons in higher tiers will be given priority.
So I built a fake Twitch chat to use in my next Battlefront video. Took me a long time to figure out how to do but it came out pretty nice I think. As a little treat I put in the names off all current Patreon supporters as well as some friends and people who have appeared in past videos. This is going to be a fun edit.
Here's how I made this video. I took various clips and interviews featuring Jordan Peterson, dropped it into Adobe Premiere Pro and cut out everything but his voice. I then split the audio file into 4-5 separate smaller audio filed and uploaded it into elevenlabs and tweaked the voice settings. I then moved over to Chat AI and asked it to "show me a hypothetical speech Jordan Peterson might say on explaining why the word "Clanker" is a derogatory term to droids and should be avoided" and after a few successful and failed attempts I was able to generate two and a half scripts which partially failed to generate and I proceeded to built my own script off what I could salvage. I then pasted my revised script into elevenlabs and after a couple of tries I eventually got something like what you see here but it still sounded off to me in a few places. It took a bit of audio editing to fix and get a realistic and normal paced sounding speech pattern but I managed to pull it off quite well I think.
Started building more assets for future projects. Looking to use these in a thumbnail or something but it could always be scrapped. Might need to rework the phase 2 helmet as it just doesn't sit right with me.
