Thanks, I don't just mean mechanical pencil. I mean the original Pacer pencils. It's a nostalgia thing

They are still sold in Europe and Australia and I just picked up a package of 12 Bics with a very similar look and feel in the US. My best suggestion is to search for an engineering mechanical pencil; Amazon has a huge selection but so do technical and art shops. You can get something of equal or better feel (and quality) there.

I like mechanical engineering pencils in various lead thicknesses and a Stadler-Mars plastic eraser for sketching. The Stadlers can be cut with an Exacto to get into very small places to erase without affecting the lines around it and it's the most effective general eraser I use.

Great pencils manufactured in my home state of Tennessee! I use their drawing pencils. No erasers on those, but I use a good pink drawing eraser.

At last, a new pencil video - it's been too long a wait!

This might sound odd to anyone who appreciates nice stationery, but I'm a bit nostalgic for old Paper-Mate Pacers. There's almost no trace of them ever having existed however. I used to still find them in dark places until about 10 years ago. Now I'm all out :(

That happened to me too, in junior high. A girl stabbed me in the arm in English class with a pencil. I excused myself for the restroom to clean it out in the sink, it was bleeding. Went back to class, held it together pretty well, kind of in shock, but my math teacher saw me in the hall later and could tell something was wrong. She took me into the librarian's office (she was nice, she gave me coffee!) and I was ok enough to make it through the day. Still my parents could tell something was wrong when I got home, so I had to tell my mom. Had a little graphite-based tattoo on my arm for probably a decade. But not scared of real wooden pencils as a weapon. Not many people use them anymore, so if you do, you are obviously at an advantage. :P

I will never forgive myself for the time in grade one, I had a temporary, psychopathic insanity episode, and thought it would be funny to stab my friend, sitting next to me in class while goofing around, in his hand with my pencil for no reason. Mind you, I didn't have any physical strength back then, and all I did was a minor flesh wound by breaking the skin between his thumb and forefinger, and a little speck of blood. He was taken to the nurse for a bandage, and I was taken to the vice-principal's office for a talking to... my parents scolded me roundly, and made me think about right and wrong, and why I was wrong and should apologize for my terrible misdeed (I actually did feel terrible about doing it and sorry, immediately after doing it, but the damage was already done)... I did willingly apologize and we remained friends for a while, but it felt different, all things considered... To this day, every time I see or pick up or use pencils, it makes me remember that day in class.
