update: i have a dizzy head

TL;DR: i'm taking a very brief break for my health. very brief. like a couple days max or i'll go insane. i scheduled some posts, so my socials will be updated like normal.

no clue what's going on with me, but for the last few days, i really havent felt like myself.

yesterday i realized i've been taking painkillers regularly. it's probably been about 4 days straight. its typical for me to get headaches, i have a really sensitive olfactory that picks up even the slightest scent, then i'll be dizzy all day. but this is the longest ever for me, and with nonstop vertigo. i figure its from wearing my headset so often?

i can never tell when i'm overworking.

but thats just the physical stuff, which i can ignore usually. but lately i even feel like my head is dizzy...people always tell me i'm good at articulating myself, but i feel like i can't string a sentence together very easily these days. i figured all the brain fog was from me not eating well (i'm horrible about it when i'm obsessing about my work), but i have no appetite, even for my favorite foods when i'm like this.

i noticed when a friend asked me why i don't post pictures of my tacos anymore, and i realized i hadn't had them in a while, and they didnt sound appetizing lol...thats not normal for me. i'll be eating al pastor on my deathbed.

it sounds silly, but i'm so big about my routines that i guess i worry myself when i suddenly lose interest in them.

the reason i'm writing this is because today was the first day i felt like i physically and mentally couldnt do anything. like even force myself. and i'm freaked out ngl lol. i wish i could work without rest, needing to sleep is such a burden when you're this obsessed.

tbh i feel like most of the psychological stuff just stems from me feeling out of control about the physical stuff. everything i do is about controlling myself always LOL. it's torture.

maybe i'm saying too much. but i don't feel like myself. Episode 4 is a huge episode for me, and maybe it's stressing me out lol. but i can't do it like this.

i've always felt like a prisoner in my mind, but now my body's betraying me too lol. it's such a burden to need to rest.

so i'm gonna rest for now, and if i still have a dizzy head after that, i'll visit the doctor.

episode 4 in the works…

the public Lacrimosa debut is in less than 12 hrs. there’s not much pressure, i think it’ll be a while before it generates even a little buzz. DoRo was the same way… i didn’t get many subs until episode 9 of season 1, and i didn’t launch patreon until midway thru season 2.

i think im most nervous about my inability to not be swayed by all the opinions 😅 i welcome them, i just dont know if my will is as strong as i think it is.

this next episode is focused on showcasing Akira’s deep resentment, and Luna’s obsession with the things that scare her.

Akira can see things he feels he shouldn’t see… and worse…he doesn’t want to.

this is what i think the first version was missing…a quick peek into Akira and Luna’s lives separately before they come together. now we’re going into the party scene with a light grasp on them.

so excited to reshoot it with all the extra context. and for yall to compare the versions haha. so pumped.

i’m waiting on an asset and then i’ll start filming. my favorite thing about this series is having so many personalities and plot threads, and also how it juxtaposes very dark elements like cults, spiritual psychosis, corrupted money and power… and light elements like exes, sneaky links, and Arron + Iza’s coparenting stuff lol.

DoRo Season 1, Episode 7 Re-upload (Uncut?)

as some of yall may've noticed, episode 7 was taken down by youtube. dw, i've reuploaded it here for anyone to view in case they missed it.

i know this disrupts the flow of the viewing experience for some, since a lot of people watch it through a playlist.

i am extremely proud of this episode. i loved working on it, and it means a lot to me. i wasn't trying to violate youtube's guidelines with this one, or push any boundaries. i just wanted to provide catharsis for my audience, and show the honest vulnerability between my two leads.
i even appealed the takedown, bc i genuinely didn't think it ventured past being artistic expression of intimacy.

but alas. on youtube, we play by their rules. all this has done is remind me why having a platform where you can express yourself fully is a non-negotiable for creatives.

it's okay! we're so far past season 1 of Doro.
i planned on unlisting it once Lacrimosa made its debut anyway, like I did for KH.

Let's talk about Kino.

i think when we design characters, there's always a bit of bias, esp when it's just a fun hobby for most of us. i personally have a rounder face and a weak cupid's bow, with my eyes being smaller than my nose and mouth/lips, so i naturally gravitated toward those aesthetics when creating.

i tried to venture away from those when making Kino, and i think in my attempt to just make him look "different" (which i personally think failed btw...lol he fits right in tbh), i created a character i'd grown to resent.

this is why i'll always tell you to do what you want. if you try to change just bc you feel pressure to do so, the result will almost always be something you're not proud of.

all that being said, Kino's been reworked like 5x and i think this is my favorite version. it was really hard to find his angles in the first episode of Lacrimosa. also, i hated his hair lol. i wanted it to be white, but warmer. i couldn't find one to frame his face like i wanted.

thank you kindly to MOOOD for making this hair specifically for Kino. i prob would've suffered without her LOL. every day, i thank the CC makers for helping me bring my story to life! i'll be editing the color just a tad to reflect his dark roots, but for now, i was just so excited that i wanted to show you. i hope you like this one.

Episode 1 of Lacrimosa drop update!!

episode 1 (part 1 of the intro episodes) drops in the next few days or monday/tuesday if all goes to plan. i've decided to keep the early episodes shorter like DoRo was, just to get into the flow of working on them naturally.

the difference is i've scripted these. no more going in raw like i did.

tbh i don't think i'll do a live premiere on youtube, at least not for a minute for this series.

also, i won't be posting to youtube right away. i might wait until i have a good chunk of episodes done before i even consider anything public.

this story is more lore-driven...character driven mostly but i'm focusing more on lore than trying to just get everyone to kiss. if doro was my impulse era, then Lacrimosa is my calculation era. it really was just the intro.

this is a huge pivot from doro and i already love it. thank you for holding space with me while i explore creatively.

can i let you in on a secret? i'm obsessed with Mickey and his arc, but i won't get to get into it at all until everything else is set up and it's killing me lol.

New Character Introductions 🥀👑

hi! i'm finishing up the script and i'll be filming soon. i've finally taken proper pictures of some of the new main characters being introduced (that haven't been yet).

i wanted them to look closely related but not identical lol. they may look very alike, but their personalities are very different, and i think their senses of style are distinct as well.

when i was working on DoRo, i was super afraid to make my main female lead "too alt" looking, and i think this stemmed from me lacking the storytelling skill to make it make sense in-world. this time i said screw it and our main girls have dialed it to 10. let's make it fun!! welcome to alt black girl nation LOL.

Luna is more like the "all black", "gothy" leaning type with more feathers, faux fur, shiny pvc/leather, and fun silhouettes.

Lucia is more like the "modern" alt girl. her look is more relaxed and she keeps up with trends. she also really likes fun makeup.

at first, i didn't want the king to have an "advisor", but then i realized it wouldn't be as fun to write without giving him someone to bounce ideas off. i'm interested to see how you all react to Valetin.

Luna and Lucia originally had 2 friends, but I realized an extra personality wasn't needed. and now that Penelope's personality has changed a little, i needed the sweetheart character lol. also i was nervous about giving her the super "fantasy-style" name she has but i really like it and i think it fits my themes!!

Lacrimosa is in production.

i always save all my clips when i'm filming on a secondary drive. i've officially deleted all DoRo, since i know i'll never need it again.

it's official. we have moved on.

new save, new playlist, everything. everyone has slight makeovers, nothing crazy. i wanted to welcome us into the new world with something light. it may not feel too different, but a lot has changed internally. i'm currently saving to replace my PC, it's having a really hard time keeping up with the demands of all my programs. i really wanna have a new PC before i start my next series.

i made these silly little character sheets. they only feature mainly useless information bc everything you need to know about them is told better in the series. i only featured characters that've already been introduced and will be showing up again.

some of them have had a very small redesign. i'm currently working on another mini-logue featuring everyone here.

this doesn't introduce any of the new characters for the next series. i'm really aiming to make my next story a standalone, but DoRo will serve as extra context for those that wanna know more. as always, i appreciate you all for being here. we're really just getting started.

not to be biased but i love the photos of Arron and Mickey the most. ALSO! this isn't how they'll always look. this is just how they look right now for the mini-logue i'm working on. we'll have skipped forward 2 yrs.

also, some people noticed Penelope didn't walk during grad. this is bc she was the first called and she walked off-screen lol. i really only wanted to use them walking as a transition for the flashbacks, and i didn't feel Penny needed one.

you also might have noticed that Reno and Andrea are both missing. more on that later...

Iza during yoga ❤️ + Coming Next!

i'm preparing everyone for my next mini-logue, and it'll feature pretty much the whole cast. so while i was doing that, i really wanted to take some pictures of Iza with long hair lol. i also took some pictures of my girl trio!

i think yall are gonna like Iza's next arc. no spoiler, but she and Arron both have the "loyal" trait lol. Arron is gonna have to work really hard to put space between them, even with time.

also i think Arron's whole "I'm so focused" shtick is just him running away again. Iza was too close, he was looking for a way out. but i guess we'll see? after the poll results ik yall are itching to see them interact again, prob just as badly as me lol.

i write my stories, but sometimes i let things get dictated by mood. this is why i was so shocked by Rome in the last short with him and Trina lol. his behavior was 100% mood driven. i played "unfolded" by Kehlani, saw him in that pronebone and it felt way too natural. thats when i decided.

and for those following the story, i've decided i'll be using Rome and Trina to chronicle the time skipping until my next series. since they're the only couple that survived, i feel like it only makes sense lol. tbh they were lucky they were too new to have real problems yet.

basically put, the next series takes place 4 yrs after the original DoRo storyline, and lands on the last semester of college for my main cast that actually attended college (Kino, Lars, Penelope, Jazmin and Arron). tbh i'm disinterested in filming any extra scenes that involve school-- college or otherwise-- so i jumped forward a little further.

if i'm being honest, Kino, Lars, and Arron are locked into school anyway for their individual reasons so there wouldn't be much story there anyway. i guess if you wanna count Kala sleeping her way through town but that can be explored later too (because she's still whoring around).

this short with Rome/Trina takes place a few weeks after the finale, then the one after that should jump forward a couple years. not sure yet, but it'll make sense when i'm done scripting it.

their dialogue in this short felt extremely personal to me, like most of my writing is. as you all know, i'm incapable of truly "making stuff up" so it all comes from my own personal experience.

i spent some time resenting Rome bc of my attachment to Sato, but i think i've matured and i'm ready to tackle his lore with care (and less bias). i hope you can feel my energy, even when i accidentally tried to bury it. Rome's scars were intentional, they are not for show. i always wanted an outlet- a safe space to talk about it in a world i control. i dont take that lightly.

i'll be honest. never in a thousand years would i have ever guessed i'd be downloading or actively looking for assets for infants. i'd planned for at least one baby storyline for my next series, but i wasn't sure where i'd place it or how until i wrote my finale. and i mean the LAST draft of my finale. 🥀

she's Arron's favorite happy little accident. they've been inseparable, even with Arron heading to ACAD. he's made it a habit to come down to visit at least every other weekend. also, it's odd but...at first when Andrea wasn't around much, school was a good excuse. now it's like she's always busy. Arron is often watching her all alone or with Kino.

also, she has the "hates being picked up" trait, and i've decided to leave it. Alejandra literally only likes being held when it's Arron or tall people like Iza, sometimes Sato (if he has food), and Rome, or her father Reno. and on the rare occasion her mom does, she doesn't mind either.

Arron is giving this baby girl the worst case of separation anxiety known to man and he doesn't even know yet. how're you gonna be a hover uncle?? Ale does not like anyone lol.

hello to my precious Warlords!

thank you to everyone for all the love and showing up to my finale premiere. the reaction SHOCKED me. i received so many interesting questions about everything.

i was surprised to see so many people interested in the lore of my world? i guess i worried a lot about info-dumping or being boring. thank you to everyone who expressed interest in knowing my characters deeper.
