Congratulations to you too. I am fully vaccinated, but here in the UK there are plenty of covidiots, who are anti vaxers, refuse to wear a mask, and dont give a Sh*t about anyone else, we also have the South African strain, and now more worryingly , the Indian mutation that seems to be a quick spreader, and may just beat the vaccine, so until I know for sure, I am not taking any chances, and keeping my guard up, as I have athsma and COPD, to contend with. Go enjoy yourself, but don't take any unnecessary risks.

Hi Fran, glad to see you are out the other side but don't forget you have a worldwide audience and in many places, life is far from normal. In the UK we are being conditioned to be ready for more lockdowns (not fully finished the current one yet) due to the Indian variant, even with a huge take up in vaccinations. I’m pretty sure the virus isn’t listening to governments and deciding to vacate the US or Philadelphia just because they are saying its over. So is the US making a mistake with its relaxation and optimistic outlook, or is the UK making a mistake by being paranoid and pessimistic about variants? Time will tell I guess, but the mood in the UK is this is far from over.

Fran, you played it safe and took all the common sense precautions and came out on the other end unscathed. I work remotely at home, per company COVID policies, but I still have to physically access some labs to add to or fix something. I kinda got used to the mask and hand sanitizer. Safe distancing wasn't usually possible because the consoles people sit at are the same for real pilots. I also had to touch cursor control devices, avionics keyboards, touchscreens, etc. that everyone has to touch. I just kept my fingers out of my eyes and nose and keep wearing the masks. But I'm really sick of being in my home office every day and I hope things will change soon and I can get back to the normal office life. I'm glad you told me about the new easing of restrictions. I didn't know that. I rarely watch the news any longer since it's all bad, but at least I don't hear from the former idiot in the White House seriously putting options out there like mainlining Clorox or swallowing UV lights to kill the virus. I trust the new guy can speak in complete sentences using a vocabulary above a 5th grade child's level. We had to deal with COVID AND that? We all need government-provided Xanax after last year.

So glad to see you smile. Some people, many people, are to one degree or another pretty shaken up by this past year. Think PTSD or the stress of growing up in a violent climate. It leaves a scar. I am glad to know that doesn't seem to be you :-)

Congratulations on being fully antibodied Fran. I had my second vaccine last week but a test earlier this week showed I only have short term antibodies at the moment. Plus we are still getting localized outbreaks here in the UK. So as a high risk Stroke survivor a little longer self isolating still.

It's very bittersweet. I wept when I got my first vaccine thinking of my dad who succumbed in Nov. So damned close. I also mourn those I've excised from my life who are either Covid deniers or antivax. I have no more F*&%S to give to these people, some I knew for over 20 years. As I will not tolerate flat-Earthers in my life, I will not tolerate anti-science/vaxers either. "Go be ignorant on someone else's clock." What I have learned is that masks help my allergies. Also living in NYC, rinsing out my cloth mask showed how much SCHMUTZ is in city air. I've been wearing respirators when I bike ride as it keeps my asthma from flaring up for years, so I'll just continue the practice. I've been eating indoor bars and restaurants s for a few weeks since I'm fully inoculated. It's a weird feeling.

Don't thank us. Thank you for the great videos!!

I am 64, and a month ago it looked as if I might have to wait forever, too, here in Croatia. Then, two weeks later, I was offered a choice of BioNTech/Pfizer or AstraZeneca, companies were offered vaccination campaigns at their premises (most of my young colleagues took the opportunity) etc. . Now I am counting days to the second dose of B/P. The only tow questions is how many anti-vaxxers will remain, and how effective vaccines will be against novel strains. As for the latter, the first news are encouraging.

Meanwhile, in Brazil, we are waiting for the jabs to arrive. I'm 52, maybe I'll get it in October. Or November, or...

Normal life returns like a tidal wave! I am overwhelmed as well.
