May 19 Update

No way will "everyone" find it satisfying Sierra - this game is far to complex. Some will wish we took all the shards, became the new Lustlord and got all our girls goddess shards replacing the current pantheon, some will wish we don't disappear into the ether (the Tower would be a good hiding spot to vanish to now that I think of it) others will wish it became impossible and Simon ruled the world. Still others will wish we "solved the universe" learning every single bit of lore, leaving no mysteries left (that's me!) and you'll not likely be able to make the ending that makes everyone happy. Just focus on making it the best you can and staying true to your vision and characters.

on another note feel free to watch that channel i just started and and I'm using TLS as my starting point for the channel. i would certainly appreciate the subs but just views is more than enough

i figured it out actually, it was audio latency due to the fact that the game runs at 60 fps but my audio runs at a slightly faster rate so the game was forcing the audio to reverse by about 1 second during that area.

updated: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VaDNJXDEp8c&t=135s between 37:00-38:00 i hear several audio breaks, around 38:20, 38:45, 39:55, 40:05, 40:12, 41:00, 42:20 seems to be multiple points in the church track.

don't know if this is on my side or not(might be just my hifi audio system) but early on in chapter 1 i hear a lot of audio breaks and pops while in feroholm(first visit) and delgar forest. just kinda bugged me and i felt the urge to speak up

So here's a random idea I had... It would be both funny and cute if in a roleplaying scene, like with Lyn and Orlise, if Simon said something like "Qum, come down here!" in a loud booming voice and the castle shook a little bit and then there was a quick animation of Qum's sprite (or whoever) looking scared and scrambling down (using the run function) to the bedchamber to get involved in whichever threesome/foursome scene was written out. Thought I'd throw it out there, might be too much work for the payoff though

Thanks, I'm glad you're enjoying TLS! The previous update was longer ago than usual because I spent over a month working on another project (Once Ever After). But since I'm finished working on that for the short term, I will be returning to my normal schedule. So expect weeks, not months. Other than that, all I can say is check my weekly updates.

I've given it thought, but let me just say that the early round table discussion was intentionally put in as misdirection to make players think there would be a simple system of paths leading to those endings. Having said that, when you get to the ending you will have some decisions to make.

Hey Sierra Lee, I only recently came across TLS and I must say what an awesome game!! Forgive me for being pushy, but do you have a projected date for the next release? It seems that your updates come out roughly every 3 months, would it be fair to assume next update around August?

Slightly off topic but I wanted to plant the seed. Have you given any thought to doing multiple endings for TLS? I don't mean "get more than x points to unlock the good ending" but as in Simon choosing what to do with all his power. Like the round table discussion he has with the three women.

The problem with GoT's later seasons is that, while they followed the plot of the books they had the source material so to speak. When they went past that, they basically have a set of milestones with no clear way to reach it. For example "This charcter dies later on in an important scene" and what they do is "Let's kill that charcter here and now, because why not". And the whole later seaons could be summarized as Jon Snow fucked up things directly or indirectly hard. Why the "Bells" happened as it did is basically because Jon did the stupidiest thing and basically hurr-durr-derped the whole Daenerys situation. "Let it be fear" indeed.

While the held sneeze of an ending we got for GoT has galvanized the criticism of the series it is has been in a tailspin for the past four seasons. I didn't read the books but it's fairly clear that while D&D had a fairly good grip on adapting the source material in the first half, once they had only the outline they showed they have little to no ability to fill in the blanks. It's most frustrating when you realize the ending had so much work put into it and if the writing had of been there what seemed laughable and inexplicable could have been something that deserved discussion rather than ridicule. Your assurances are appreciated but unnecessary. If anything the decline of GoT just makes me cherish the few series that retain what makes them exceptional, such as TLS, even more.

What do you mean? GoT's ending is a perfect business decision. That way, the producers will be able to justify a more faithful full reboot (with new and cheaper actors) in a couple of years (let's call it "Games of Thrones Brotherhood") and squeeze cash out of that licence for one more decade. SL you could literally, literally make the ending Simon taking a dump on Ivala and I still think it would be a better ending then GOT.

Yeah, honestly I have no doubt that you will write a significantly better ending than GoT. I have the utmost faith that you will not forget the lore, the plot threads, just everything that makes TLS, well, TLS. Your characters will develop in meaningful ways all the way to the end that also makes sense to the characters themselves. Pretty much everything D&D did not do this final season. Like you said, not posting this for GoT hot takes or debates, just pointing out my faith in your writing skills.
