I've recently started taking commissions, and I just finished my first one in a long time.
Since I send progress shots to clients as I'm working on the process, I thought I would show you the steps as well!

1. My original sketch

2. The client wanted a bit of a softer look with upturned eyes, so I modified the sketch.

3. Base colors based on the character's description

4. The client wanted the darker gradient background, so I altered the colors and started painting the face.

5. Finished painting the details; she wanted the eyes a brighter yellow so that was the only change I needed to make since the last step.

6. Once the base painting was approved I added details! I added the flower petals and glows as well as highlights.

7. Color grading in Lightroom!

8. Final touches in RetroCam! I added grain, light streaks, and film scratches to complete the painting.
Hope you all have a great weekend!!
