Sorry it's late, I forgot to schedule it!! Happy Saturday, ya'll!!

Recipe for those interested:

- Halve one orange and stud with 16 cloves. Put in a heavy-based saucepan with 4 dried figs, halved. 50g/2oz sugar, half a lemon, sliced. 8 cinnamon sticks and 6 tables honey. Mix in 2 75cl bottles of inexpensive red wine

- Pace over low heat and stir until the sugar dissolves. Increase the heat to simmer for 10 mins. Cover and leave to stand off the heat for 30 mins, then remove the fruit and spices with a slotted spoon.

- Return the pot to low heat and add 375ml of port, reheat gently. Transfer to a punchbowl or heatproof jug.

Yum! Let me know if you try making this, or have your own special recipe!

Drinking some A+N style mulled wine with ruby port, and I think I'm getting tipsy just of the vapours πŸ₯΄ cheers Alanna 🍷

David Powell

Great! Thanks - you're a star for replying so fast!

DJI Pocket 2! Bought it direct from the site, paid for the Creator package

Adventures and Naps

Ah...! I think I might've found it! DJI Pocket Gimbal Camera from Argos...? Is that the one?

Steven Parkes

Hello Alanna - your new camera looks fascinating! It's just the thing I'm looking for to enable a second camera-angle - but you don't give us any information about it! What make/model is it and where might I find one myself? I hope you see this message now, as it's been a few days since this post...?

Steven Parkes

Christmas Pudding beer??? I'd rather die. But you're right - would be great for a taste test lol

Adventures and Naps

Picked up some Peaky Blinder Christmas Pudding stout in B&M, which sounds perfect for a taste test, as it beer, which you don't like, and Christmas Pudding, which you also don't like, and we know you're a glutton for punishment πŸ˜‚

David Powell

Fascinating!!

Mulled wine would be lovely in Canada! I'm sure it's popular, but doesn't seem to be everywhere like it is in the UK/Europe.

Adventures and Naps

I think I will definitely use your logic - mulled wine IS basically like breakfast!

Adventures and Naps

Ahh I didn't get Aldi this time!!

Adventures and Naps

I believe the cloves are stuck in the orange so they don't get lost in the mixture. You don't want to swallow a clove!

William Seabrook

The cup says (on the outside): Christmas Market Frankfurt - City of kings and emperors (Weinachtsmarkt Frankfurt - Stadt der KΓΆnige und Kaiser). The text on the inside wasn't legible in the video, but I think it's a reference to the location of the market. Just in case anyone was wondering - the more you know :)

Martin Dobler

When I've made mulled wine I used just wine, but the port does sound like a really good addition. I've also made it the cheats way with bottle of wine and a Schwartz mulled wine sachet. I can't help but think that mulled wine would go down a treat on a cold and snowy winters day in Canada.

David Powell

Changing the recipe and happy accidents are how recipes evolve. I may have to try the Alanna ized version. Mulled wine has grapes, oranges and spices in it, so that counts as a kind of breakfast. If you fill your cup with water and microwave it, that will warm the cup. If it's a heavy cup, it will stay warm as long as your wine was at least room temperature. It won't be hot. Someone above mentioned putting the bottles in warm water. That will work also. Be careful the glass is strong enough and the water isn't super hot.

The Raven

Alanna uses less sugar because she's already sweet enough.

Brett Carruthers

Great Alanna .Good to watch..Have never got into mulled wine and this is from a guy who was brought up in a pub ..The main thing it was a success..You always say you're no good at this sort of think but the snowball the Yorkshire pudding now the mulled wine well you seem to be doing OK ..Thanks again and hope you and The Butler have a great weekend .Also Bluewater looked very dead .Not many people about ..Keep smiling...

Mark Walsh

Hi Alanna. You must try the Aldi mulled wine. By far my favourite. Not too sweet!

James Hodson

Thanks so much Stephen! It's definitely more discreet, that's for sure. I'm anxious/embarrassed about filming in public so the tiny camera helps with that!

Adventures and Naps

Thanks so much David!!

Adventures and Naps

Ahh thank you so much! The mystery is solved! Can't say I've ever had pine cone infused liquor before.. but sounds really cool!!

Mulled wine reminds me of Boxing Day afternoon walks on Hampstead Heath with my grandparents. My grandfather would have a thermos of mulled wine to help keep out the chill. I'm thinking about getting a DJI Pocket myself, so I'll be interested to see how you get on with it. A bit more discreet than a camera on a selfie stick. I always enjoy your content Alanna. Your fun easy going style of videos are the perfect antidote to these crazy times.

David

Nice footage of an empty shopping mall! But do you have problems with your right eye? Since when do you wear an eye patch? 😊 I really miss the Christmas markets this year. Punch is more popular than mulled wine around here. Maybe because you can get creative by adding all kinds of ingredients like fruit juice, tea, liqueurs. We are currently experimenting with pine cone infused liqueur to add a Christmassy touch. Your mug says "Christmas market Frankfurt – City of kings and emperors" on the outside and "The old and new heart of the oldtown of Frankfurt – DomRomer Quartier" on the inside

Holger Steinwedel

You say you really don't drink that much, & I Believe you but, you want to. Right. πŸ€ͺ. Just kidding.

Martin Sellman

Alanna this video was amazing. As is all of you content. I really love the way you adapt your own way of doing things. I think it adds to the video. Most YouTube videos are serious but yours are a breath of fresh air. And just a small confidence booster for you. ALL of you content is amazing. Just ignore all the mean peoples comments. I'm really looking forward to your next yt video. I hope you enjoy your weekend.

Stewie Whittaker

Great video, thanks for making it! Also, unrelated, sorry that on your stream on Wednesday were saying that you thought you weren't good enough to be on twitch. Im so sorry that you were feeling that way but it's not true, I promise!!! You're so funny and you're so kind!! Your streams are great and they always make my day a little bit better!!

Aaron Conway

I've gotten lazy with mulled wine and if I have it these days then its courtesy of M&S, so Tuesday's taste test will be interesting!! I really like the new camera though and the new angles already show lots of potential for future videos doesn't it - seeing you testing it around Bluewater was pretty surreal as it's usually packed in the run up to Christmas, which just shows what an effect covid is having Finally, a big thanks for reminding me about Snowball's - I went out and bought all I needed and had forgotten how nice they were, especially after a few!!

Malcolm Lawrence

Your cooking videos always crack me up πŸ˜‚ (psst, all your content is great!). Never got into wine but maybe I’ll try mulled cider πŸ€” ... also, there’s no such thing as drinking too much, especially in December & especially after this year!!! New camera looks very cool 😎 reminds me of a gimbal... Having to cycle through settings would really bug me tho, think I’ll stick to my big boi πŸ˜‚

Gem

Love your content both here and YouTube. Your slotted spoon made me laugh

I was slightly concerned you weren't halving the ingredients. Thank god you realised before you put the sugar in!

Andrew

I'm shocked how wrong you are!

Adventures and Naps

Mulled Wine = how to ruin two delicious alcoholic drinks and some fruit.
