More progress on hornet 20! Color is now in alongside some shading. There of course is more to be done, but I think its coming out well so far. One detail that I will be adding is that the light will be behind hornet in this scene. I hope that this will add some visual flair since its something that I have not done much in the comic. Also it punctuates her turning away, I think it fits. You might be able to tell where im going with it so far, but It will pop a lot more when I get the rest of the shading in.
I didn't mention it last time, but I swapped the swirly eyes for the round bug with X's. I don't know if im gonna have them be actually dead, but it was just funnier to me this way. Maybe I'll add their spirits floating up from their bodies, just something I thought of as Im writing this.
Also I think I like how the background is here much more than I did with the previous one. Even when it isn't finished. It just looks more cohesive. Like always, let me know what you think.
The lineart for hornet 20 is here! Not too much to say that I haven't said last time. But one thing that I haven't talked about is backgrounds! For most pages, ive drawn the backgrounds line-less as if I was painting them. This at least makes them faster to do since they aren't the focus of the comic, but also give some texture that makes it feel more alive. However it also sometimes doesn't fit the style of the characters, with them having outlines. So im trying including the backgrounds in the line-work again to see how it works. Looking at it now I think it feels a little more cohesive.
Down she goes, where do you think she will end up? Here's a hint, its pretty far down.
Im noticing that ghost is a little like courage the cowardly dog. Cute, kind, and willing to go to hell and back just to keep those he loves happy. For this one I had fun with the posing. I think I got everything here a little more dynamic than before. Its something Im quite happy about. not a whole lot to say, this page is mostly build up for the punchline coming in the next one. The rocks breaking around hornet tho I think came out nicely. The hole I think could use a little work. Like always I like to hear what you think!
The third addition to the failing grade series is nearing completion. There are just a few things left to add, mainly the actual grade part which I’m only now realizing I had forgotten, and some detail for the background. I might adjust the dialogue with time, but that is at a point where I’m fine with. I experimented a little with the shading, using a purple color on soft light for the shadows. I’ve done something like this before, but with a shade of purple I don’t usually use. I think it worked for the most part, but I might adjust it for the boots, which don’t seem to work the best with it. I also want to go and color some of the squares of the flannel, I really wanted to go all out with this one.
Hornet 19 is essentially complete. I might make a few additions before it goes live, but by all accounts it is ready. I personally think there is something wrong with the background, it just doesn’t look all too great. But this has taken long enough, so I will just have to try harder next time. One thing that I really didn’t like in the previous post was the impact clouds for panel 4. It just looked bad. I swapped it for some impact text, which looks better but still missing something. Oh well.
I also changed laces expressions from last time, I think this flows better than how I had it previously. I also gave the tall bug back his arms, I had forgotten them last time. And I am now realizing as I am writing this that I forgot hornets blush again. At least that’s an easy fix. Oh well.
It’s the last month of the semester, which means lots of finals. So sorry I haven’t been able to do much around here. But I want to post when I can and so here I am.
I’ve already shared the story I had in mind with this one last time, but I have a few extra details. The girl you see is named Abigail, and she plans to flunk her classes explicitly to grow her boobs. You are her roommate, to whom she gets to share her exploits. I intend to sneak in a mention of the previous girls that we’ve seen in failing grade, and later it would be cool to make a piece with all three of them after the semester is over.
So a while back I drew a bee girl for a DnD race, I always liked how it looked, but it is way outdated. At first this was just going to be a remake of that picture, but then a friend I showed asked if it was a Hollowknight OC. I said it wasn't but that got my gears turning.
Now I would like to introduce Spinnerett, who I intend to add to Hornets dream either in chapter 2 or 3, depending on how the story goes. I have an idea in my head for her role in the story, but I don't want to give away too much too soon. I will say however, is that she is an excellent fashion designer.
Hornet has gotten her payback, but it seems like she has left something behind. But not only that, the floor doesn’t seem strong enough to hold her. The sketch isn’t quite finished, I need to fit ghost back in and maybe lace as she sneaks away.
One thing I’ve thought about is how many panels I want each page to have. Obviously more panels means the story moves faster, but it also takes longer to make. Less panels means hornet is bigger on the page. I was going to squeeze in another panel, but it was too narrow to really do much with. So I will use the extra space for the sounds of the ground cracking.

Progress continues on hornet 19. It still needs more time in the oven, mainly the backgrounds and the shading. I will confess I am not sure how much I like how I did the background this time. Something about it isn’t working. Let me know what you think. Otherwise I think this is coming well. I of course added some things since I last showed, mainly Ghost who has been flung from his purch and stuck in the ground like a dart. This I like very much. I mostly know what I will do for the dialogue, so stay toned for that.
Were getting a new suit! This will be the first original suit that we can play in for longer than 5 minutes since prime 3, 18 years ago! I think it looks good, has a resemblance to the light suit, but also the character of a hot rod race car. I wonder what it will do, maybe a spin on the speed booster? Anyway we don't get to see all of it from behind, so I had to fill in the blanks. I think I was "accurate".
If you aren't aware, I am a massive Metorid fan. I have been dreaming of what a new Metroid Prime game could be like before it was announced in 2017. When it was announced alongside Samus Returns, it was one of the most exciting times of my life. Fast forward 8 years, I finished Middle school, gone through the entirety of high school, and my first 2 years of college. Needless to say, I am excited. Im curious what they have planned for her new abilities, doubtless they have a lot more planned than they showed, and likely some upgrades for her Physic powers too. Admiralty the gem in her forehead looks a little goofy, but I can forgive that. Some of the enemies do look a little generic, mainly the 6 limbed aliens we saw. But some of it captures the spirit of the prime games very well, especially the plant life. The boss we got to see towards the end looks awesome! I hope the story has a few twists and turns, so far its a little bit too much of a rehash of prime 2. We know Sylux will be involved somehow, so Im curious what they will do with him. Got to work on hornet 19’s lineart today. I ended up making a few changes, mainly the first and last panel. I wanted to draw more booty if it’s not obvious. It was a little boring how it was before with just a close up of their eyes. Here we get a little more emotion I think. I also think I’m gonna make a few additions as well, I need to figure out what happens with ghost in all this, and for the 5th panel I wanna add another shot where we see Hornet as Lace crawls away. This also needs a little clean up overall, but I’m happy we’re making progress.
Next I need to get to work on the sketch for hornet 20, it helps me work out the story this way and you all get to see new stuff.
This is something else I started a little while ago. Many of you might be familiar with the previous two editions to "failing grades", this one however is a small bit different. While the previous students either disliked their new breasts, or at least had mixed feelings about their growth, this one knew all about the college’s new system, and was very excited for it. I’m looking forward to this one, in part because the others are a little old, and I’ve improved since then. I would say that I could make this into its own series, but that would have to wait considering how much else I’m already working on.
The first sketch for the first panel is mostly complete, the second of course is still being worked on. I have an idea of what I will do for the third, but have yet to start it. Like always I am happy to answer any questions
This will be the last update before I post hornets dream 18. I had changed the background for panels 6 and 7 since the last update, this was an idea I had earlier but had forgotten about until now. It’s in part to cover up how it doesn’t make sense that you can’t see hornets bottom half in panel 6, but it also captures the shock better too. I’m still not super happy with Laces eyebrows, but it’s too late to go back now. There will obviously be a few changes between this and the public post, mainly the absent title and some extra shading for the background. But it was complete enough that it would feel silly to send out another update on this page.
Basic color is in. Next up I will be working on the shading and background. One thing I would have done differently if I were to do this again is to try and make more room in some spots for the word balloons. I’ve realized that some panels, mainly with Lace, are way tighter than I would otherwise like. Oh well, a lesson to be learned for next time.
Line art is in. Might go and clean a few things up, but I have everything that I intended to have. Next up will be color. I want to try and have this done this week. Not sure if I can do it, but I want to try. I’ll be out of college, so that’s where this burst of productivity is coming from.
Lineart has begun, the first two panels are ready and the rest are soon to come. One thing I’ve been spending time on is hornet’s eyes. There is something missing but I can’t tell what. I want to say it’s the shape, but it’s not easy to give it the curvy wave I like when she’s supposed to be wide eyed in shock. I might go back to try and improve that, but I want to finish the rest of the lineart first. Speaking of eyes, I also changed the expressions of the two bugs sneaking around. This I think is an improvement from what I had before.
I intend to introduce the Radience into Hornets dream, likely in a later chapter. However I wanted to fiddle with her design a little bit to fit better with what the comic is about. Up until this point I have mostly tried to stay true to the designs of the games, and so trying to add the radience in needs a little more effort. I have her normal arms and tried to use her hair in place of the wings that used to be in their place, and while I think I’m close, I feel like she is a little too far from where we started. So I will likely continue to adjust her design in time for when I bring her in. Any and all comments are welcome.
I’m a big dnd/fantasy fan, and while in my art history class I thought of this idea of two kingdoms, one filled with woman with huge boobs and the other with gigantic asses, making an alliance. And as part of this alliance a prince from one was going to marry a princess of the other. And from that I thought of this scene, with the ladies in awe of the biggest ass they have ever seen. This might be something i develop into a series of its own, although as it stands right now it’s just this one piece. I plan to make this maybe the most detailed piece I’ve ever done, so expect multiple updates on this for quite some time.
Here’s the sketch for hornet 19. Lace is getting away while she can, this isn’t over as far as she is concerned. And then there is Hornet, who does not appreciate a pair of perverts touching her new assets. It was fun to draw hornet using her breasts and butt to fight, something I intend to expand on. Only thing I have to do is add ghost back in. He was on her boobs previously, but I wonder if he’d still be on after being flung around.
I went back to refine the sketch for hornet 18, mainly I wanted to have more build up to Laces reaction for when her followers switch sides and become obsessed with hornet. Also big booty Lace is fun to draw.
Pannel 6 I might try to do more on. Something about it doesn’t seem right.
Ive had a few ideas for characters to include in hornets deam. Here is a little of what I have, expect more soon. I liked the idea of each mantis lord having a unique figure, plus a test on Marissa that looks a bit strange. I don't know what it exactly is, but something about the way I drew Marissa here doesn't look great. Ive also gotten to experiment a little with how I intend to characterize the White Lady. I imagine her as a somewhat naive mother figure. How big do you think SHE was, lol
I can't believe i started this when I was at 3000 and have now reached 4000. Goes to show that doing things quickly is not my style. I hope the next part will be the last, I think 6 is a fine number to end on. If not then so be it. Its not ready quite yet, I need to finish writing the dialogue and Ive noticed a thing or two that I want fixed, I forgot their tails for example. But other than that it is all but done. Id be happy to answer any questions

It is not yet done, however its in a state that i satisfied happy to share. I ended up just eyeballing the colors, looks about accurate id say. How soft do you think hornets body is? Considering that she is supposed to be a bug, likely not that soft, however this is my comic and I say she is like raw and heavy dough. One last thing to note, one of these days im gonna have to make up my mind about the background. They are supposed to be in greenpath, but most of hollownest, which includes greenpath, is underground. I was doing it this way because I thought it was at least a little interesting without being too had to draw, but at this point the inconstancy is starting to bother me.
Also a long time coming. Good think ghost landed on something soft. Poor Lace is knocked out, but not for long.
I don’t have a lot to say. I have all but completely moved over to procreate, but this means I will also have to set up my color palette again, something I am not looking forward to. Expect quick progress on this one.
This has been a long time coming. I’m expecting this to be the second to last of these, I began this series when I hit 3000 watchers and I’m nearly at 4000. I’ll share more of my thoughts on my next update to this, but right now I have to run, busy as always. Thank you all!
Here is the rough sketch for hornets dream 18. And marking the first page of hornets dream made with my new iPad. Previously I have been using a Wacom and photoshop to draw, but this past Christmas I got my hands on an iPad and downloaded procreate. While I miss some of the bells and whistles of photoshop, procreate is a much better deal overall and feels much better to use. I don’t know if you are able to notice any differences, I think it looks much the same.
Wrapped up my first week of classes this semester. I think it’s going to be a good one.
Can you believe this is the first drawing of Shygal that I've ever posted? I had a hard time believing it. I always loved the character and I did try to draw a shygal once or twice, but I never got far much less put it online. This isn't done quite yet, I want to write dialogue for the 4 below. But in the meantime I wanted to give some notes for you all. First things first, I have a bias for Daisy, she's always the character I play as in any mario game (provided she's playable at all). Even when I was super young I remember choosing her. So this is the reason she has the biggest boobs, although it would be more thematic if she had one of, if not the smallest pair. I plan on writing an explanation for how they became so full, but you'll have to wait on that. Next I want to talk about is Pauline, who might be my least favorite purely for how stiff the competition is. That being said, I love her dress and she might canonically have the biggest breasts. Nintendo had some guts when they brought her into some of the newest games. For that reason alone I had to give her some respect and made her the second bustiest. But to why she's on the bottom, I think its all in the face. she's no where as cute as the others, which makes a big difference to me. Peach and Rosalina are in a tie. Rosalina has a really cool background, being a literal star goddess. Her hair is really nice and the color of her dress is a big plus. But the design of said dress is what brings her down. Its mostly because of the midsection. The way the dress is modeled between the top and bottom halves just isn't my favorite. The silver crown also isn't my favorite. I think if they changed up the design the color would work better, maybe more like princess bubblegums but with a star on top? Peach meanwhile is fine enough, nothing too outstanding. But I much prefer her dress and the color of her hair. And as you can likely guess, I think the gold works much better for that style of crown. I gave Rosalina third place, again in respect to her place as a goddess, leaving Peach with the smallest boobs of the 4. Although as mentioned above, daisy would either be tied in last with peach or a cup below. I think thats the order of their natural breast size I imagine them having, with maybe Rosa and Pauline tied for biggest.
Ive fixed hornet's eyes on the last page, added fingers where her hands were previously nubs, and I ended up redoing the 4th panel to better convey what Ghost is doing. I have also added the base color and currently working on the shading. I ended up giving the monarch wings a slight pink hue like how they are in the inventory, although they look more pure white in gameplay. I just thought this made them stand out better.
