February release! - The plague

Hey guys! Happy to announce that February release is already here! They are supported free, so you just need to put it on the printer and it's done! I also uploaded the models separated from the bases in case you want to use a different set of bases!

I'm already working on the next theme and it's a lot of fun. I've just done a single tentacle and I'm having a blast, can't wait to continue with the rest of the Kraken! If you have any suggestions of what kind of miniatures, creatures you want to see for Sea encounters launch please do!

As for the Royal miniatures they will be launched as soon as I finish them, that means you wont have to wait for the full set to be all done.

Here's the link to the February release

(Baseless models uploaded)

Happy printing guys! Thank you for your support!

Abomination 4/4 miniature for February!

Here's the final model for February. I decided to make a plague abomination. I've already tested it and it printed just great!

Just in case I added some extra details that makes its structure stronger and also more appealing. I've made a thiner base (than what's shown on the print picture) and also added some intestines coming out of the body to make it feel more disgusting.

I'll be launching the supported free models in a day or two! The separeted models will be launched as usual on day 15th and they will come pre-supported as always!

March theme - Sea encounters!

Last time we voted we got a very close result. The second most voted theme was Sea encounters so I've decided that I'll do it for March release.

I'll use polls to decide what miniatures get chosen for this theme. You are free to ask for any miniature related to Sea encounters. A kraken is a must have, so count on that one already!

I'm very excited to start working on this theme! I feel it will be a ton of fun to sculpt, print and paint!

The plague - Infected peasant

Hey guys! I appreciate all your feedback from the last post. I've read all your comments and taken note of everything you said.

I've decided that I will do both kind of miniatures. I'll do them supported free whenever it doesn't compromise the final result of the model avoiding so making them bland and tasteless.

This infected peasant I think that makes for an example of what kind of supported free miniatures I want to go for.

I wanted to make it with a dynamic pose. So how do I make a miniature that feels like moving without lifting his leg on thin air or it being goofy looking standing on the ground?

I decided to put a torso under the lifted leg that acomplish two different objetives, supports the dynamic pose and also adds some character to the model and world. I also added some footprints behind him in order to help imagine the route that this peasant went.

Now, how do I make the right hand stand on his waist making some sense? I was looking out for some references, trying to find anything that would give me an idea. Then I saw this friendly peasant chilling with his piggy under his arm. I saw a good oportunity for this one carrying one. It makes sense for peasants that when panicking they would try to carry something valuable with them.

As for future miniatures that requires supports you can count on me doing them pre-supported as always. For example, there's no way I can make good appealing wings ir teeth them being supported free (or at least without lifting some eyebrows).

There's a lot of miniature that I will have to do no matter what the traditional way. When I've the chance to make them supported free without sacrificing pose, shape and character, I will do them so, just for the challange. But when any of these things became compromise I'll definetly make them non-support free and pre-supported. The middle ground seems the better idea.

What have Hannah Montana and a necromancer have in common? They get the best of both worlds, let's do that.

Also, archmage items will remain pre-supported, for most of them there's no fricking way I can make them supported free.

Thank you for your feedback and support guys! I'll love to know what you think.

Switch to supported free models - Shoud I?

So here's the deal guys! I've decided to make this February release supported free. You will only need to put it on the printer and get your mini the easiest way possible. I had some challanges that I actually found quite exciting during the modeling process so I said to myself, is this something I want to keep on doing? Spoiler alert: For me the answer was yes.
If by any chance you also want to have supported free minis from now on vote yes, on the other hand if you want me to keep on doing normal pre-supported models vote no.
I just want to hear what you think about it! If we finally decide to go on with it that doesn't mean I wont do any pre-supported models. Sometimes when I can't actually model something the supported free way because it's virtually imposible or has some negative impact on the final result I will do it the old fashion way.
The amount of work would be about the same for me. I would have to model more stuff in order to make it free supported (including bases) but on the other hand I don't have to pre-support them. The time I put on each model is about the same. the main difference is that there's more fun involved on support free.
Normal miniatures would be labeled as Roleplaying Miniatures, and supported free as Boatman Roleplaying Miniatures (something along those lines) just so you can distinguish them. I'm also making the Hades boatman supported free right now. This mini will become a free sample here on Patreon for you all to download, kind of like a demo of what can you expect from this supported free miniatures.
Here are the renders and the test prints for the two of the four miniatures for February. (They are work in progress, I'll add a censer on the preacher and some potions for the doctor, I just wanted to make sure they were supported free, also I'm a bit impatient).

Other thing that I would've in mind is the bases, I've just realized that sometimes (due to temperature or leveling) it is hard to get them out of the plate, so I tought that maybe giving it this form it would be much easier to pull them off with the spatula and preventing any undersiered breaks. So that's good news!

That's pretty much all I wanted to tell you guys! Any feedback or idea on this matter or other stuff are always welcome! I would like to know what you think! Thank you for your time and support!
Take care guys!

January Release! - Stl download

Happy new year! Here's the first release of 2021! Hope you like them!

I've though of something for future releases. I wanted to do something new, so for February release I will do the four miniatures free supported. That means you wont need any support material to print them! I don't know if that's something you would like me to do more, but I can definetly try and if you like the results/idea I may switch to do them all like that from now on! I'll do a poll in the future for all of us to decide!

Download January release here!

January theme - Badass halflings!

Here we go! The first release for next year! Badass halflings! I'll go for a dark aproach for this guys.

Naturally halflings  are pretty chill guys, always smoking their pipes, having a drink with their friends, dancing at good music. On the other hand, these badass halflings have some different interests, they use other kind of pipe, and with other porpouse, to smoke their foes, one thing remains the same, they drink... a lot!

I'll love to see who you imagine or want this badass halflings to look like! As always, you are welcome to share your reference on Discord or here, on the comments section. They usually help a lot! I'll be posting the work in progress of the first one this next week!

Also next week I'll try to post December release! A week before from what I always do. Some of you have asked me if I could make this month release a bit earlier so I'll try to do that! I'll keep you updated for that too!

Corgak - Community reward (Available on December 1st)

Here he is! This is my take on Corgak, a character created by Robb Nunya!

This is a little description of the character that Robb gave from him:

He's a real idiot of a Half Orc Barbarian named Corgak. He's fun to play, though. Total hayseed with an 8 INT. He likes singing (Badly), eating, and drinking. If he doesn't slightly annoy the other players, I've failed to do my job with him. He has a Sunsword and a mullet. He's kind of a "brah" Half Orc. You can expect him always wielding a tankard/mug of beer in one hand and maybe a chicken or turkey leg in the other with his sword strapped to his belt.

I thought it would be cool to reward the community! All of you that share your paint works and prints from Roleplaying Miniatures deserve some recognision and appreciation for your extra support! To get it you just have to post a photo of a print or a paint job of any model from Roleplaying Miniartures on whatever social media you prefer, it can be on Thingiverse, MyMiniFactory, Reddit, Instagram, Facebook, wherever you want! When you do that please share with me the link and I'll send you the stl!

Gnovember release! + News - Stl download

How are you doing guys! Here is the November release!

Download it here!

I've some news! I'm working on two more miniatures for next month plus December release that promise to be an exciting one!

So these two extra miniatures I'm working on are in first place an owlbear that will form part of the welcome pack. The second one is a character created by Robb Nunya. This miniature will grow the loyalty reward set. Here are some of the characteristics you can expect from this miniature.

He's a real idiot of a Half Orc Barbarian named Corgak. He's fun to play, though. Total hayseed with an 8 INT. He likes singing (Badly), eating, and drinking. If he doesn't slightly annoy the other players, I've failed to do my job with him.

This is the general look. He has a Sunsword and a mullet. He's kind of a "brah" Half Orc. You can expect him always wielding a tankard/mug of beer in one hand and maybe a chicken or turkey leg in the other with his sword strapped to his belt.

From now on we can make a character miniature designed by the community for the community! I think it would be a cool thing to do! Let me know what you think about this! Hope you all are doing good! Have a nice day!

I've tested all the models except from the lich queen, the uv lights from my Photon died on me and they are out of stock atm. My guess is that it should print correctly with the presupported model. In any case I'll update the files when I got my Photon is back on running.
