Orban Attempts Diplomacy

In this episode we discuss the recent visits conducted by Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orban to Kiev, Moscow and Beijing. These visits have been loudly (and somewhat theatrically) denounced by the EU hierarchy but it is likely that at least some of the European leaders are looking for a way out now. We also discuss how most "anti fascism" in Europe is a fraud and why this is the case.

This pamphlet was taken from a speech Stalin made in response to Trotsky attempting to distort the history of the October Revolution.

The South African Election - Capitals Coalition

Following the conclusion of a coalition agreement between all the pro-capitalist parties in South Africa we examine the recent election. In order to fully understand the decay of the ANC we go back and look at the decline and fall of the apartheid system, the influence of the socialist states on the early ANC, the 1955 freedom charter and why the pro-capitalist measures were adopted in the deal that ended apartheid.

In this special patreon edition of the programme I'll be reviewing the 1965 Sidney Lumet film 'The Hill'. Set in a military prison in the Libyan desert in world war 2 the film offers a wholly different perspective than the earlier British war moveis of the 1950s and 1940s.

Writing Project

I'm pleased to announce that the first pamphlet to be released under the provisional title "Socialism and Patriotism" will be coming soon. This follows a request from viewers of the livestream on this subject and will the first work to be released under Marx Engels Lenin Institute project. As I work up each chapter they will be placed on the patreon page and then the finalised version will go here as a downloadable pdf.

I'll be pausing on doing livestreams until Friday of this week in order that i can get this and several other writing projects completed. So the next livestram will be Friday 14th at 19:30.

In this episode we look at the question of patriotism and how it relates to our socialist future. As part of this we examine the common objections voiced by the western left to the notion, why there are valid reasons for these response and how there are both opportunist and right deviationist errors on this question both lead back to reinforcing the ideological power of the bourgeoisie.

In this programme we examine the recent plan announced by Rishi Sunak to bring back compulsory military service. In doing so we examine what Sunak's motivations may be and what the reality of this will turn out to be in this time of decaying monopoly capital.

Late on in the episode we look at the potential Russian plans for Ukraine and how soon the war may end.

Robocop (1987) - Film Review

In this episode I examine the 1987 film by Paul Verhoeven, the classic, Robocop. In this review I look at the film itself, how it fits into American film making after the collapse of the studio system and the brief flourishing the independent spirit of the 1970s, the reactionary films of that period and the tradition of the western.
