Hi all, I hope you're doing well! This newsletter is unfortunately going to be short and a little poorly formatted - covid finally got me, so I've been knocked out! Here's this month's Halloween-themed illustration!! I wanted to get this one finished early so everyone would have more time to enjoy it!

To start things off, here's a (WIP) preview of this month's upcoming wallpaper - I wanted to go with a Halloween theme, and I'm trying to make it sort of a companion to last year's pumpkin wallpaper!
Also, as a reminder: this shouldn't affect current patrons, but due to some changes that the Apple store is demanding, I'll be changing my billing model from "first of the month" to "subscription billing" starting next month, meaning that if a new patron signs up on the 17th, they'll be billed again on the 17th of the next month as opposed to on the 1st.
I mentioned last month that I'd be dropping some new items in my merch shop, and those have finally arrived! You can purchase them here, and I've also updated the 10% off code for patrons, which you can find here! The drop includes three new nostalgia-themed cotton t-shirts (totes are available, too):
My blueberry skirt for Maya Kern has also dropped, but it sold much more quickly than anticipated!? But while it's sold out in the US, it's actually still available in Canada - just be sure to change the site's currency to CAD! You can find the shop here!

2024-10-01 15:28:21 +0000 UTC View PostAs I mentioned previously, I've been chipping away at the pencils for our upcoming graphic novel, and while I can't show too much, I wanted to at least give some idea of what I've been working on all this time!
I haven't talked about it much, but at its core, the book is about a girl who's looking for her lost basketball shoes - and who somehow finds herself stumbling into a strange new world along the way (AND getting a funny little disguise)
We had a few goals in mind with this book, but more than anything, we just plain wanted it to be fun, so we've been letting ourselves get a bit loose with it. This includes the art! I've been trying to really focus on expression and energy - I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with Joe Whitt's work, but he's so so so funny, and I'm doing everything in my power to do his writing justice.
It's been a learning curve for sure; it's hard to know when to reign it in and let a drawing be simple vs when additional detail would add to a scene. Anyway, it's sooo hard to know what to write here when I'm trying not to reveal too much, so I'm just going to drop some out-of-order non-spoiler panels!
I'm about halfway through pencils right now, so *hopefully* I'll have more to share soon! Due to previously mentioned injuries, I'm having to really pace myself, but I feel like my excitement has been forcing me into decent progress regardless... Anyway, I need to jump back in, so I'll be ending this here for now!

Hi all, here's what I've been up to!
To start things off, I've gone ahead and started working on this month's illustration/wallpaper set! I wanted to take one last swing at a summery image before I make the swap to fall themes next month:

I also paired up with Vograce to review a few of their products, so that will be going up on my Twitter and Instagram sometime in the next week or two. While I can't currently offer the items online, I'm hoping to slip into a couple of conventions next year, so maybe I'll see some of you then!
Beyond that, I've just been chipping away at the book, and I finally feel like I'm making pretty good progress! So while I can't show everything, this month the Harvest tier will get a peek into what I've been working on all this time. I hope you'll look forward to it, because I've been having a blast!

Summer is really in full swing now, so this month's illustration is my favorite summer fruit! 🍉 I hope everyone is managing to stay cool out there!

This month's update is a bit short, but here it is!
It's been very, VERY hot around here, so I wanted a super summery theme for this month's wallpaper. Here's a quick look at the sketch - I should be able to finish it in the next week or so!
I also finished two new skirt designs for Maya's shop! I'm not totally sure when they'll be available (likely a few months at the earliest), but here's a peek at what they'll look like:

I was able to sketch a little more than usual!
When I drew the Mitsuki, I thought it could be a cute shirt design if it were cleaned up, and then soon after I sketched Ichigo and Di Gi Charat with shirts in mind... and now I kind of want to make a series of designs based on 90s/early 2000s series!? We'll see whether that pans out, but I think it'd be so cute!

Hi everyone! It's a new month, so here's what I've been up to!
Good news: I just got thumbnail approval today, so I'll be moving on to pencils/sketches this month!! So while I can't show you every panel along the way, those in the Harvest tier can expect updates here and there that give a peek into how things are coming along!
(The book is currently expected to be 260+ pages, so I may be at this for a while!)
First, I just wanted to note that I've started this month's illustration! It feels like I've been doing a lot of nature-themed ones recently, so this time I wanted to take it in a different direction and went with a candy theme. I'm having a lot of fun with it so far, so I hope you like it once it's finished!
I also have a brand new skirt design appearing in Maya's shop this Thursday (7/4) at noon ET! This one is wildflower-themed - I'm really excited about how it turned out!
There are also going to be brand new mini versions of my raspberry and luna moth skirts!
I haven't done any in-person events in a while, but if any of you are in the greater Birmingham, AL area, I'll be setting up a table at the Hoover Public Library for their Sci-fi / Fantasy Fest! It's an all-ages public event that will be happening on July 27th from 10am - 6pm.
Beyond that, I don't have much else to note; I've been chipping away at some other contract work, but nothing too exciting. Also, I haven't been talking about this as much recently, but as a quick update I started attending physical therapy again, which has been a huge help in keeping me on track - with any luck I'll be able to fully get back into my usual groove in the future! (Take this as your sign to start a strength training routine hahah)

Hi all! Sorry this one is a bit later than usual - I lost track of time for a minute there!
I don't have a lot to report this month, but here's what feels worth mentioning:
I've been using INPRNT as my go-to print shop for a while now, but ever since opening my merch shop I've been wanting to combine the two. While I don't have a hard date on that yet, I do want to give a heads up that during that process I'll be retiring a large percentage of my prints, including several recent ones.
What this means is that much of my current print library will become unavailable for purchase sometime this year. I'll let you know when I have an ETA on that so you can grab anything you're interested in before it's gone! I'll be increasing the discount code to 25% at that time, too.
My reasoning is that due to time and the fact that I've been pretty lenient about what I upload, the shop has become super cluttered, making it difficult to navigate. From here on out I'm going to be a little choosier!
Most of my time has been going toward working on the graphic novel, and I've just finished the first draft of the thumbnails! It wound up being 260+ pages, which is heftier than I expected...!
Hopefully I can get started on pencils this month so I can start sharing the process a little bit more.
I've also started work on this month's wallpaper, which is hydrangea-themed. I'm a little stuck between versions though - if you have a preference, I'd love to hear it!

While I really enjoyed drawing Falin, I wanted to make something that matched the lighter mood of the series! I always see people discussing what they like adding to their instant ramen, so I had that had in mind while I was drawing this.
