Nope. I'm Not Seeing Kraftwerk

Got all the records - seen them in the heyday - but the new 2025 world tour is one that I am going to skip. Let me explain why..

Nope. I'm Not Seeing Kraftwerk Nope. I'm Not Seeing Kraftwerk

That seems quite reasonable. One can pay £100+ for about an hour of some bands.

End Stage Capitalism has ruined everything for "normal" people. What I wonder is if these fat cat capitalists have thought about who is going to do the actual work for them no doubt some people will say I'm just a lefty woke socialist!

I thought you were going to say it was because Ralf Hutter sued a Kickstarter project for portable fuel-cell battery banks. They had the temerity to name their fuel cell "Kraftwerk" (which literally means power station in German). Not sure how that was going to dilute the band's brand, but there you go. Search for "Kraftwerk ezelleron"

Like the t-shirt says - "We may be old, but we got to see all the GOOD bands!"

Just checked for the UK. Outdoor venue. £98 (all charges included). Early entry for £10 extra. It's an all day event with 16 supporting acts and two stages.

It's more fun to compute... ;-)

It's true, it's all different today. Well, I saw Kraftwerk in 2022 at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. Total ticket price was $91. Is that terrible? I don't know. I saw Emerson, Lake, and Palmer in 1977 at Montreal Olympic Stadium (50,000 people) for $10. Yes, times have changed. Well, it's also not a 5 hour wait to get into a 2500 seat venue. It only takes ~20 minutes if you get there 30 minutes before (it feels like 5 hours if it's raining, yes), since people arrive at different times and a quarter of them arrive late. You could still buy tickets at the door, and I was able to print mine ahead of time and avoid having to use a $700 phone to get into show. And Kraftwerk were EXCELLENT. I recommend the show, despite the cost. My philosophy now is that there is only one Kraftwerk (albeit with 2 new members) and if I want to see them I'm stuck having to pay. Plus artists make zilch on recordings today and rely on live shows for revenue. I know, boo hoo to the Stones and Paul McCartney, for whom I spent $1500 recently (2 tickets), but I'll never see them again, and it was the first time I saw them, so amortized over 40 years, $1500 isn't so bad :). But yes, that's what it costs today.
