Hey everybody;
I've been taking some time to breathe and try to exercise. None of us wants me to die until I've made all the awesome things right? Right. Seriously, your health is priceless. Do not neglect. Anyway.
There are lots of smart folks out there. I'm trying to get better at listening, and one fart smeller (smart feller?) suggested I was overcooking my computer, animations, and wasting time. So yesterday and the day before, I've been digging into "How can I make animations faster? What's the quality benchmark and at what point is is there, vs my technique of today?"
From testing, it's possible I could save ~25% or more of the time my animations take to render. To give an idea, on a slow day, I produce 2 or 3, and those are shorter, only 20-30 frames. If they render that much faster, I can easily push up the frame count, make them smoother even without AI post processing like early in HHD, and more. It's exciting because it means I can produce more work, in less time, faster for all of us. (Hey, I enjoy my games too you know).
While I am not sure if the story needs edits or fixing, there's that "character," feature I have, and the plan is to add bonus scenes via that section, with characters that didn't have sexy camera time in the game proper.
I mean, none of ya'll voted to have the baristas get down & dirty, but that's literally why I created those characters ;)
Anyway, it's in progress, a few other material issues, rendering research, and more needs to be done before I dive head first into production for the next title. I want it to be amazing and I'm spending time now to make sure my skills grow before I go on a production bender.

Updated on November 29th to fix a bug (thanks for reporting!) in the replay gallery, and again on Dec 9th.
PC and Linux in the market edition here.
There was a report that didn't work for Mac, so for Mac 1.0 use this version.
Lemme know if you have any trouble, etc.

The same schedule applies; what's new in this update?
- Mac edition updated Dec 12th.
- Newly updated Dec 9th with a dozen bug fixes, thanks for all the reports!
- Update Nov 29th to fix a replay gallery bug, file available at the same link as before below. Thank you for the bug reports, I appreciate it a ton.
- Remastered all the audio, in every adult replay scene;
- Adds 69 new static images (believe it or not, wasn't planned I'd hit that number, but when you're on a roll, you're on a roll, right?)
- Completes the Harem ending, and bumps the version number to 1.0
- Updated title screen, removed the Patreon link back (I figure ya'll can find me...or not? We'll see).
- 554 new frames of animation, it's probably like 10 to 20 somewhere in there in the game, I didn't count. Sorry not sorry.
- Total game now has 95K words, a decent sized novel, for all the shenanigans.

The bonus HHD special edition launches later this month (Dec 20th) with the usual schedule; it's available now, read the release notes for the 1.05 here.

Rather than calling this the ".26," edition, I'm relabeling it the 1.0. Tomorrow I'll have the files into the cloud, after yet another review, and then write up a bigger set of release notes.
As you know, this latest update is finishing off the harem ending. After this, I'm open to improvements, updates or polish, but I plan to pause the page for the month of December while I take a little time off, plan & research what else I can do to make the next title even better, and of course continue working on that to get the launch done sometime in Jan / Feb.

Hey everybody-
Renders are happening as I type, I got up early today because I wanted to get the next one started, and also add into the game, beta test the animation which finished overnight. All good so far.
However, I've got a list of other fixes that I'm doing this week not just renders + animation, which include story updates, other sound engineering, and more. If you could do me a massive favor, any issues, problems, stuff you'd like to see improved PLEASE drop a note, comment in Discord, send me a message here or elsewhere.
Also, (might not happen soon, but was on my mind) I was wondering for the replay feature, since not everybody likes butt stuff, should I split those scenes into two options? Eg, a replay for the backdoor version, and a replay for the version without backdoor action? Not every scene has those choices, but some do.
Thanks a ton for your support, I'm thrilled with the game so far, it's going to be even better when the V1 (.26...) is ready, and of course, there's even more awesomeness on the horizon.
I expect next year to be simply amazing.

In other news, the .26 update is still in progress, current estimate is next weekend. I got up early today (about 5 am my time) and started a new animation, the 2nd for the 2nd of the animated scenes in the finale.
Also, since learning more about Steam, it's advantageous to issue some amount of new content or updates there, too...so I have a few extras in mind that I'm going to add over time to the game, but won't be in the "final," version next weekend.
To recap, what's coming next week / this month is the following:
2 new animated scenes (one finished with Dee, Rose, and MC in the van)
60+ still images (have 58 in the dev version in progress right now)
The initial game launch on Steam (will have some edits in sound, potentially other aspects, we'll see).
Areas I'm wrapping up right now are the audio issues, and of course, all the final animations for the 2nd replay scene. With four characters to pose, it's going to take some time in both setup and animation phases, but I'll keep posting regular updates as I finish things (and previews on Discord, like I shared on Friday).

Yes, I have a day job (who doesn't if they're trying to make games without enough money to pay rent?), and today I took the day off to work on more animation, poses, and get more of the audio work done on HHD.
I really appreciate the support, and I'll probably drop some preview image(s) over the weekend in various Discord channels to show off what's coming soon.
...and yes, I did wake up at like 5:30 my time today just to get started early.

I've posted a lot of this on Discord, but if you don't read there, that's okay. I just finished 1 of the 2 animated scenes for the finale, .26 update; the last animated scene is in progress as of today along with the last set of still renders for the update. In a few days (like Wednesday) I'll post another update as to how it's going, with luck, I'll have it ready November 6th.
*Also* I just updated the version .25 for Regular guests a few minutes ago, sorry about the delay.

Other than backporting those newest changes, I've been working on the new, new beginning you may have seen in the Steam preview trailer I created. The video is basically starting the game, playing from the menu, the new beginning / intro content, and then the start of the game.
Previously, those screens were all black...sigh, no renders or animation. Was a terrible onboarding experience.
Anyway, working to do better as always, thanks for your support. Once I'm finished with backporting the new changes, I'll be cranking out animation for the .26 update harem finale. I've got everything ready for the first of two planned animated scenes, which will be awesome.

In the game, there's a character gallery, and there is a stripping sequence of images for Daisy, Lily, and Rose. The other characters don't have that content, and with many of them not getting naked at all, I was wondering: any interest in me adding a solo photo gallery for them, similar to the main three love interests?
It'd be something I put together in ~November sometime, after I get through the gauntlet of making the harem ending epic, the Steam game version launch, and of course, there's this "holiday," thing coming up which means I might not be able to bolt myself to my office chair.
Personally, I think it sounds fun...but, I also know that what I consider fun isn't always the same thing as ya'll, so I'm asking:
Add those image galleries, or nah?

I updated the content from the .22, .23, and .24 available on Patreon & elsewhere to bring them in line with the .25 update. The content that was removed in .25 is also removed in the previous editions, as well as all the story updates, etc.
Other than that, renders are coming along, and I'm very happy with how the finale is shaping up. It's awesome.

Thought I'd make this public because as they say, "The count down is on!"
What's that mean? Whelp, HHD has become a beautiful game, compared to where it started, and I couldn't be happier with the latest .25 update. No spoilers here, but the folks that played all had great things to say - and I appreciate that a ton.
There's a lot that could go into a story...and a lot that should *not* go into a story. Creative constraints help us who dare defy the heavens & call ourselves Creators reach ever more lofty heights. Trouble is, when you have the whole world to choose from, selection itself becomes difficult. Books I've written took so many drafts, and only years after writing stories, I realized a fundamental truth.
The story will never be perfect the first time through, only by editing, revising, and nurturing the kernels of delight, of something more, profound, and eternal does the artist's work emerge from the cave into the light. Starving artists produce their best work sometimes, because they have to succeed. To win. There are no options.
A fatso like me doesn't have that issue, which means I'm focused on learning what works for me, and that's editing, revision, and more.
HHD didn't get that before I shipped, and you can see in the beginning (even in the .25...) edits, changes, and story updates. There will be some of those in the .26 final edition too, and for good reason. I want to hold the work up, and smile, when I consider the past.
Six months after I started work on "...my next project," have you played a demo? Nope. How many iterations of an opening did I craft? Three to five. How many of those were rendered? Three different versions. Did I do this with Magical Restart? Nope, otherwise, it wouldn't have been such flaming garbage ;)
While I'm leaving it all on the field for HHD, in the back of my mind, is all this process.

Hey all, what a ride it has been, am I right? Of course I'm right.
The .25 update shipped over the weekend, and as you might have noticed, it's a month past my previous "Summer," time when the game would be finished. Well, it's going to be this month because I just got approval to list on the world's largest game platform last night.
WOOOHOOOO!!!!!
So what's that mean for ya'll, my lovely folks who helped my fat ass finish this journey despite the nagging doubts, imposter syndrome, and insecurities that all of us who dare to defy the heavens and create new things must do battle against - well, it means that the game is definitely, definitely going to be done this month.
I've got plans for that storefront, and it's secret - but I'll share with all of ya'll. Once I get the game onto Steam, then it's back to the Investigations game in progress.
Missing content? Scenes? Improved dialogue? What'chu got on my backlog eh? Any ideas are appreciated.
This fat gorilla is going places in 2023, and it's all thanks to each of you. Here's a virtual high five, bros. You've earned it.

Hey all, it's ready :) Woohoo! Let's get into it, shall we? Plus, Regular, Special, Deluxe, VIP supporters get the update for your platform in this post here.
- .25 updated original notes below, new notes are as follows:
- New intro / beginning scene with new animation, multiple static renders, as well as animation previews of scenes with Daisy, Lily, and Rose in the beginning of the game.
- Bug fixed with an early Daisy solo scene, where if you skipped, the scene audio continued when it should have stopped.
- Other story, continuity improvements.
Original notes:
- Day 7 continues with not one but two threesome scenes, with Rose and Lily swapping positions with each other in the two different scenes. About 10 animations from the new content beyond what was in the .24 expanded update, available in the scene replay as well.
- Day 7 ending with Daisy and MC, new animations in three different positions for the finale, as well as over twenty animations between the various positions in this scene.
- Sound effects for the day 7 content that was in the .24 update but wasn't yet added ( there was a preview of the threesome content before, but without the sexy sounds for the scene, those have been added).
- Removed content earlier in the game with both Chef Naomi, and with Lois the bartender. The story updates make everything better, so if you liked those scenes, keep the older version handy.
- In total, there are more than 45 new renders and over 30 new animations in the game, and now there are a total of 27 scenes in the replay feature, including the ending scenes with each individual love interest. Compared to the initial .24 update, there's about 35 animations or so as the original .24 didn't have the Rose, Lily, and MC threesome scene.

Hey all, so it's been a busy few weeks for me, there's already as much content together in the next version as the previous .24 update...and, some of the changes are really important to me to improve the game, quality, and everything.
There are two scenes now gone from the game which you'll notice if you play from scratch in the next update. Script improvements from earlier in the game as well should make everything better, have more meaning for the player, and of course this way the foreshadowing (of which there isn't much, frankly) is better too.
What's that all mean for me, bro?
I'm getting to that. Thing is, I've been diligently working toward, "That's a wrap," since around April / May last year, when I realized there's just a lot to fix, improve, and change...and, honestly, it's a good game *for what it is* - which isn't an epic tale of emotional struggle, heartache, and redemption. That's my next game ;)
Episode .25 was going to be the ultimate finale, the last one, the big finish, the harem and Daisy endings...now, it's going to be less, but also more, than that. The updates earlier, and the new replay scenes with Rose, Lily, and MC, as well as the Daisy ending, are going to be in the update.
Wait, you didn't say anything about the harem?
I know, that's going to be the next .26 - final - update. It might not be as big as the other updates, but this way, I'll have the .25 finished and ready for shipping by October 10th, and then the .26 / final update will be ready end of October, more or less according to the existing schedule I've shared in the past.
As to why update now, and then in about three weeks, it's to ensure more people get their hands on the update earlier, as well as gives me the content I want to go through and fix the .23, .24 versions with the newer script & everything.
Anyway, that was a long post to say you'll get more content sooner, the overall project is still on that same schedule, and I'm working as hard as I can on everything to make it amazing.

Hey all, first, Plus Guests can access the .24 update here, and read the .24 release notes here of course for anyone.
Second, I wanted to share there are some previews of animation in progress on the discord, and I haven't heard anything yet about the 2 endings in game so far. Would love a thought or two when you play through :)
As to the .25, there are already a lot of animations, and multiple scenes rendered, with some to be written. I've got a myriad list of changes in mind before the game is wrapped, and some of those will be going in with this next update, and some in a later update.
What that means is I want to get the first part of the update to everybody in the next two weeks or less, and then the second part of the update end of October as planned with the remaining content, or perhaps early November. Some of this depends on your feedback, other items depend on me getting a list of needful things checked which is personally critical. :)
At the end of the day, I want to finish the game on a high note, and ensure that from start the finish, it's a landlord epic like no other. It's getting there, but isn't quite there yet. Enjoy the two endings in the latest update, and I can't wait to share more with you soon.

I shared the next story I'm working on with friends and family for the last four months at least a half dozen times. "What about..." and then later I'd be like, "Nah, how about this."
With that in mind, I've been working toward closure with HHD. It'll be the fastest game I've ever made at a larger scale, and of the multiple projects I made in the past before I donned the gorilla suit, it's got the most renders, and most animation. I'm proud of how my skills have grown...and, the reason HHD has the audience it does now is probably all the rework I have been slowly going through since May / June this year.
Nothing like waiting a year before polishing the intro I guess?
Today, I'm rendering animations for the HHD finale, and for a few of them, it's the 3rd time around. A third time to render animations? Yes. Multiple mistakes were made.
The patience I need to develop is with myself, to ensure if my work isn't where I know it should be, I wait, rework, and then share what's going on. Myself, I'm good when my expectations are set, and that's the goal here with all ya'll wonderful folks.
My POV isn't the final arbiter of quality, since beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I'll continue to thank & appreciate everybody who chimes in, gives some advice, feedback, and enables me to deliver the quality we wall want out of the Big Chungus Productions games.

I've got a list of animations, and scenes, that I'll be working through the next few weeks, and I'm excited to be getting closer to the end of the project. It's a decent game, a light hearted story (clearly, everything could be better) but for what I'd tried to make, it's awesome.
Lots and lots of animated sexy times :)
So if there are requests, anything on the wishlist, lemme know, as I plan on polishing up everything that I can find which isn't rock solid to ensure it's a quality example of my work as I produce my next game.

The game should be done at some point next month, and I'm rendering things to go along with the next two endings which will be in the .25 update.
As you've seen, and no doubt played, the game, it's been a wild ride. Health issues, recovering from 3 months of planning only to find what I made was worthless...man.
What's next?
Investigating the Incubus, or something like that, will be the title. A little tropey, a little horror, and a dash of procedural, "victim of the weak," detective show. Castle, Mentalist, and Psych are decent references for the MC who's not actually a detective -> and his partner will be determined later on as we go through the hero's journey.
Act 1 involves the intro, and the call to adventure from an ordinary life to one of extraordinary events, dangerous liaisons, and so much more. Finishing, naturally, with the official role as an unofficial detective.
I've literally rendered the introduction four times already, and now I'm finally happy with everything. Development will continue with some updates on Discord as I get things together and then approach sharing something, probably toward the end of the year, early 2023, we'll see. Schedule clearly depends on HHD finishing, and no further content updates (maybe there will be? depends on interest).
Thanks for tuning in, and with the financial wreckage that was wrought by my unhealthy adventures, I appreciate all your support in my efforts to deliver stories that delight.

And now those changes are live in the .23 and the .22 versions, here and on Itch. From what I can tell maybe better? I've read good things, would love to hear your experience.

I *think* the performance issues have gone away, the game took a little blue pill, and poof! Everything works.
Nah, what happened was I added the Ren'py feature to limit game RAM to ~256 megabytes, which is more than enough for any given scene to fully load in memory & more, while at the same time, not trying to take *all* the RAM that the game could take from the system.
Get the updated links in the various posts here, or from Itch, etc.

As you have seen, the early parts in the game have video content, where later, the animations are all frame based (slower). This has resulted in some performance issues (ha!) and if you don't have a big enough GPU, with enough ram, the game just won't play.
I've got animations in progress, which means the next update will be similar, however, I can carve out time to update those it just depends on how important that is for ya'll. Should I prioritize (it'll take a week, maybe less) converting the rest of the animations to videos?

The next .25 update I am optimistic we'll get in October, hoping closer to the beginning of the month, but I'll have a better idea of the exact date in about two weeks.

It's been a lot of work to get everything done, and...I'm pretty sure not everybody will be 100% happy with the two endings in this edition of the game. That's OK. My plot is to finish the next round, version .25, and then do another update (or two if needed) to fix everything, catch bugs, make any other changes, etc. I want the finished product to be awesome, and so far, I think it is. Hopefully by me saying not everybody will be happy, your expectations aren't too high, so you enjoy what's there.
Until today, I hadn't really played the intro for a while, and I've made improvements, and updates, even back to the early screens. It's better.
So what IS in the update, anyway? Here's the breakdown for .24:
- Day 6 evening, again with Lily, and depending on love scores, you might get the first ending, with Lily. There's a special animated scene with more customization than usual, and more animations than most scenes.
- Day 7 morning...there are branches here, and depending on love scores, attention you've given to one house guest or another, you might land on the Rose Ending, also included in this update.
- Day 7 morning...maybe you've had your eyes on not one, or two, but ALL the house guests. I'd be lying if I said this was not my favorite option. For this path, you'll get a new scene in the morning, where both Lily and Rose help MC get to the finish, as only two house guests can. Lots of animation in this one, though only on act with all three.
- Story, continued same sound effects as before (have spent a limited amount of time into understanding how I could make these even better, which I'd like to do, probably in the update or two).
- 36 static images, 3 fully animated scenes, all of which are in the reply gallery. Two of the 3 scenes are the endings with the two love interests, Rose & Lily.
- Updated Sept 10th with new Ren'py code to help with image lag, stutter, and performance; hopefully that's a big improvement...and a bonus sneak peak of the harem ending with all three love interests, another fully animated scene with ~8 animations, also in the replay gallery.
- In total then, this update has *four* new scenes in the Replay feature, the most I think I've ever added in a single update, since this was largely focused on animations, not more static content.
