This past week has been one of reminiscing, talking about, and finding lost treasures from and about my late friend Jill Sobule. I turned off the monetization so that I could put this one together.

This is the Texas Instruments model TI-71 digital alarm clock, and so far as I know it is the first example of a full sized display LED table clock that could be bought retail. The shape reminds me of a Star Trek prop. The World's First BIG LED Displays! (Dialco 7-Segment displays from 1975) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q43GbRAL9dU

This US Army film contained copyrighted music from start to finish - so much of it in fact that I held off posting it here for over a year - but recently YouTube introduced AI music deletion tools that I employed to remove the copyrighted audio from this film, with some interesting artifacts left behind. You can really hear the foley absent from the music, and even hear the voice-over actors breathing and other noises that were originally drowned out by the music. It stars Cliff Robertson, but you may recognize the voices of other uncredited actors in this film. Anyway - add your own music to taste, stir, and Enjoy!

Just when you think you've seen them all here comes something unusual - definitely a piece of transitional technology somewhere between projection displays and flip clocks. It takes what was readily available at the time and puts that tech to use in a bedside clock radio. Enjoy!
