This month we read the Whitstable Pearl Mystery! This was the first time I've read a book based in a town I'm really familiar with - very cool! 🏖️

This is what I would cause a "cozy murder" book - let me explain lol It's technically a murder mystery but it's very chill, the stakes aren't too stressful and it's a book I could easily read without nightmares. I think my mum would really enjoy it and I got the feeling it was targeting that type of reader (and I can see how my mum would also LOVE the TV show based on it).

A pleasant-enough read and I'll bring it home this summer so my mum can read it, too! 📚

March Book Club - I LOVED IT 📡

This month we read The Three Body Problem by Cixin Liu and translated by Ken Liu 🇨🇳 This was the first Chinese book I've ever read, which is really exciting! And I loved it.

The Three Body Problem is definitely one of the harder books I've read in recent years - very sci-fi, heavily based in Chinese society with complex mathematical and physics-based problems and theories... I know, right? But the author does such a good job at explaining it to an idiot (without making you feel like an idiot) 🚀

I loved it so much I went out and bought the box-set (there's 2 more in the series) and I'll be reading those after finishing our monthly Book Club picks. I'll definitely be checking out the upcoming Netflix show, too! I hope it stays true to the book!

February Book Club 🏈 I loved it!

I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed this one, even with all the football talk! I found it soooo fast - it felt like a book you could read on a beach on your holiday and finish it in a day. Really enjoyed the flawed characters, unique personalities and an unreliable narrator. Definitely glad I read it! 🙏 Wooo happy with this one!

January Book Club REVIEW 💽

What a great start to 2024 - I loved our book this month! Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin I had this on my list for awhile after I saw it was winning awards, but the paperback version wasn't available (annoying). Someone mentioned it in our Discord recently and I realised it was finally out! Hurray!

I really enjoyed this. I liked the extremely flawed and messy main characters and how it felt like real people in real situations. I stayed up reading for 2 hours in bed one night so I could finish it. it's been awhile since that's happened!

Solid 5/5 for me - but let me know what you thought!

Youtube Update! 💫

Hey Patreon! 👋 Hope you're doing well and have managed to avoid getting sick this January!

In case you missed some earlier ramblings, I wanted to let you know that I'm launching Youtube memberships with my latest video!

So what does that mean?

I'll be offering the same 3-tiers on Youtube as I do on Patreon. It'll be the same exclusive content.

For transparency, the tiers on Youtube are more expensive because Youtube doesn't let you type in a price like Patreon does - you have to choose a price from a dropdown menu. And of course, Youtube doesn't have "5" "10" or "20" as options! So I've picked the closest alternatives.

Also - Patreon takes a 6% cut of my income, where Youtube takes 30%.

I figured I'm already making exclusive content, I might as well offer it on Youtube memberships as well. I think there's people who don't know what Patreon is and are reluctant to join. But everyone knows what YouTube is. 

Either way, it'll be an interesting experiment to see what happens!

If you'd prefer to switch to Youtube memberships instead of Patreon, please feel free! Your support across the A+N platforms is so hugely appreciated.
