This month I read Olive, Mabel and Me (sent to the PO Box by Steve, huge shoutout for the gift!) I really enjoyed it!
There were a few bits that I skipped - like the origins of Labradors.. BUT the way he talks about Olive and Mabel is so completely adorable and extremely relatable. I wasn't sure how much I'd like the book since I know very little (if anything) about Andrew Cotter, but I really liked it a lot. Plus it was nice to read something a bit different this month!
Very sweet, very cute - makes me really miss having a dog!

There was loads of reading this month! Some months it's hard to get into a book - and some months I read three!
Where the Crawdads Sing - I really enjoyed this! I didn't know what to expect, but I liked it. At times it felt like not much was ~happening~ but it's very good at ambience and setting the scene. I could definitely picture everything in my mind! Not totally sure it's worth all the insane hype lately, but it was really good!
The Locked Door - I actually hated how this was written lol something about the dialogue and the writing style drove me insane, but I ended up finishing it in a few days. I think I just really wanted to figure out the twist (which I didn't guess). It was a decent mystery but I'll probably forget the story in a few months. Although, sometimes you just need books like these.
The Man Who Died Twice (second book in the Thursday Murder Club series) - I LOVED this. I loved this. Maybe even more than the first one. I really really loved it. Please read these books - I know I'm going to make my Mom read them when she visits.

This month I have 2 very different Book Club choices!
Where the Crawdads Sing is basically on everyone's book list - which is kind of why I was avoiding it! Hearing about it so much was really annoying lol BUT one of my friends who's an avid reading said it's pretty good, so that's enough for me.
The Locked Door is a book I saw pop up on GoodReads - it's a psychological thriller that had good reviews - and that's all I know about it!

For September, I read my first ever Witcher-series books, The Last Wish (you can get it here if you want to try it). I thought it was good! It's been awhile since I've read something that's proper fantasy, which monsters and everything
I definitely think it's a great introduction to the characters if you're interested in reading the actual series. I have a hard time committing to a multi-book series as it takes me so long, but I wouldn't say no to continuing with more Witcher stuff. I also felt like it went by really quickly.
October's Book choice is something different, though!

For August I read An Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green - and I enjoyed it! It wasn't life-changing or super deep but honestly, it was a fun easy read and I'm nearly done Book 2!
I haven't read a book series that focuses so much on YouTube, Twitter and social media, so that was pretty interesting having experienced it with A+N.
I would definitely recommend the 2-book series if you're looking for something quick but interesting (I'm hoping to finish the second book this week so fingers crossed it doesn't get bad at the last second lol)

I've read a few from Hank Green before so thought I'd give this a try after it was chatted about in chatroom on Discord! It's Book 1 of a 2 book series. I didn't want to read the synopsis (I like to read books blind, if possible!) but here's a review:

You can sign up via this link. You'll then be emailed to "re-confirm" your subscription. Legally this has to happen so your email provider doesn't think it's Spam. If you don't re-cofirm via the email sent to you, Mailchimp will automatically remove you from my email list. You just have to do this once, though, and then you're good to go!
There's also a "unsubscribe" button on the email in case you want to remove yourself from my list.
If you've subscribed and re-confirmed but haven't received previous emails, please just message me your email address and I can manually check Mailchimp.

This month I read Say Nothing: A True Story of Murder and Memory in Northern Ireland (you can buy it via Amazon here if you're interested in giving it a go!)
I really enjoyed it!! It looked a bit intimidating as I don't read much (any) political fiction, but I'm really glad I did - big shoutout to Tushar for sending it!
I went into it knowing absolutely nothing about Northern Ireland and I felt like I learned a lot by the end - but I know there's still tons more to learn!
